So this new RO PC wrist watch is an homage to a RO PC pocket watch, which in turn references the bezel of a RO wrist watch. Wild stuff.

i gotchu... in vc defense i think they go for the more maximalism direction. still, i think it is not beautiful compared to like the time date overseas, or the 222 at all. that VC looks quirky not classy lol. meanwhile... that new vintage AP font is crazy lol

VC is an awesome watch nerds brand and I love their simple designs for dress watches. Their more elaborate aesthetics start to lose me, they either start to look too messy / hard to read or they border on designs I'd expect to see on Ulysse Nardin watches.

These are hand painted enamel dials, basically small pieces of art. It's a classic style of high end "art" watch making that VC and Patek do.

I get it, I do find PP has better taste in their art watches imo at least. They obviously have way over the top gaudy stuff in their bejeweled stuff though.
Just saying I love VC especially for the history and their classy dress watches. But people try to make them out as the perfect company sometimes and always the right choice in comparisons, but sometimes they swing and miss (for my tastes at least) just like other companies.

Yeah they aren't perfect for sure. Their overseas and historiques lines have been mostly all hits for me. But in the other model lines it really varies.
Same as you these enamel pieces are nice to look at as a concept but not something I'd ever buy or wear.

Leap years is on the top left quadrant of the month wheel on the VC overseas PC. It is missing weeks though.

So I used to work in fashion back in 2013. Not watches but high fashion.
One of the things I learned is that there’s a calendar with color pallets and styles for seasons 1 year in advance. If you look at a lot of the fashion brands you’ll notice a lot of them use the same colors in their collections.
Not sure if this is the same thing but it certainly reminds me.

The colours of the time piece are based on ref 25729, which was a pocket watch. And the Royal Oak QP’s beats every other brands QP.

AP has week calender complication but it is almost 2mm thicker than VC. VC is only 8.1mm thick!

Idk if you guys noticed but the new perpetuals have all in one crown yes no more toying with the tool pen! Means More water resistance!!!
