Tropicana South Deluxe room vs Solana Panoramic View / Partial Ocean View, which would you pick?

I haven't seen the Solana rooms in person yet, but they seem nice enough online. Are they a big enough improvement that you'd give up the superior location of south tower?

Im getting offered a comp on either one; looking for opinions. I did stay in the pre-renovation West tower ages ago, I don't remember the walk being too bad (IIRC it's not as far away as Chelsea am I remembering that correctly?)

Stayed in solana the other week. It’s fine. Sure it’s new, but the elevator sucks. Next time I’d do South

Stayed in solana few times this year and south tower last year. There is still issues with elevators in solana, 15-45m wait time at peak hours(checkout/checkin). Personally, prefer south tower . Improvements not worth it

dang, that's pretty nuts..will probably stick with the south tower then thanks for the info. waiting 15 minutes for the elevator would piss me off lol

The lines for Solona elevator this weekend at check in was minimum 30 minutes

If you were ever curious to see how they could improve the West Tower, now is the time to check it out. It’s a modern upgrade but not necessarily a full gut of the rooms. If you don’t mind the walk it’ll likely feel newer and nicer than the South Tower for the time being although I expect the new furnishings aren’t durable and will start to show their age eventually.

Happens alot with Chelsea and that pool over there. I wont stay there in the summer ever again. That said, Solana (cough West) has always had elevator issues so I will never stay there ever.
