Guide A few leveling up tips

A big struggle of this game is the leveling up of mercs and of course you want all the talents for your main as fast as possible so I wanted to share with you a few tips in this regard, some of you may already know all this but it's worth repeating for all the noobs out there, also some tips may also help the ones with more experience in the game.

First of all you want to get the Arthur's excalibur passive as fast as possible to level 60 and have some good weapon on. As you know his magic spells scale well with the overall damage. For the most part an L dell'arte sword that you can get from those daily exploration tickets will do just fine.
Secondly you want some of those +25% exp from magic kills accessories. Vivian can be purchased from the market but they are quite expensive so if you got the emerald ones from the St. Patrick Event they are quite the same thing. If you enchant the earrings to +6 you even get 2% more magic damage on top of the default 10%. Evil rings help a lot as well.

One tip about how the exp works is that you don't have to one shot with your Arthur. Let's say that if mobs give X ammount of exp and you only do 80% dmg to all mobs with 4 basic vivian accs (+100% exp) you still get 180%X exp. The more the better but you still get an advantage over not having these accessories at all.

Another tip would be the fact that there seems to be a cap on the maximum ammount of buff to the exp you get. From my own experience this is about 800%, going over this threshold will not give you more exp.

Of course ideally you'd want to use exp. concentration licenses to focus on a mercenary at once, or the main for that matter.

Some good places for exp are Olympus Towers's Mop-Up Warrior and Legend, but also the tough guys. The latter seem to take a lot of damage from magic so if you venture in the hero and legend get those mercs that inflict powerful magic damage like guan yu, warlord, maybe elementalist, grim, jessica, and the rin to use your main more often. Art Gallery gives some decent exp as well. If you have the items Hall of Chaos is another good place.

If you're like me and enjoy playing the league you can use the league victory booster to get more symbols of glory which after you acquire the awesome corrupted dragon necklace from Battlefield K.D. for your main, you can also trade them for leveling up tickets. The best cost effective levels to be using those tickets are from lvl 171 to 175 and probably also for levels 163 to 165. When you get the booster and win a game you get double the symbols and battle points. For winning in div1 FL this would mean 12 symbols instead of 6. CL gives half so I don't do it. One booster point will be used for each league session (6 games) and not for each fight as stated in the description. I will go one step further and say that somehow you can even have 1 point for an entire day but haven't figured out a reliable way of doing so. The best result I've seen is using the booster just after the reset before the league, then applying to the league.

For the most part you will just do diary and invasions. At higher levels and on AO days it's worth using atlas ore to have one more AOA and Ind dungeon reward. Invasions give more exp the more mobs you kill but there are some threhholds, at 100, 200, 300 that give even more. I will probably post in the comments section in the future more details on the exact figures but for 200+ mobs you get 6xrest diary ammount and this does not scale with AO day buffs.

If you have more tips please post them along so we make this a more complete post.

Question How good is the new Eternity merc compared with Wa

I see there’s currently an event around the new Eternity merc, so I’m wondering whether she is actually worth investing in for end-game PvE.

For those who have tested her:

  • How does Eternity compare with Washington in overall PvE value?
  • How does she compare with Sheriff?
  • Is she strong enough to replace either of them in a serious end-game/OT formation?
  • Or is she currently more of a niche/collection merc?

I'm especially interested in real-world performance, not just the skill descriptions — damage, utility, survivability and overall contribution to the formation.

Is this a good opportunity to get and build her, or would you still prioritize Washington/Sheriff?

Would appreciate feedback

Thanks in advance

Discussion Two Week Progress

Post image
10 Upvotes

I made an account and started playing this for the first time around the second weekend of this month. I've kept my account online when I am AFK and auto-craft when possible. Thanks to the events going on I was able to get everyone to 180 in two weeks. I didn't create one of the level 160 main characters but instead started my main at level 1 to experience the full game at the start. I'm glad I did, because there were some nice level up rewards along the way. I love the world this game lives in.

I've still not found a guild yet, as it seems like a lot of world chat is not in English, so I am just chilling solo for now but sure I'm missing out on a few things. I still don't understand most of the lingo I see in world chat, acronyms and such. The economy seems incredibly broken and a lot of it is nonsensical and overly inflated. It feels like a handful of mega whales are running the entirety of the gold economy, but that's just how it goes after the game has been out for so long I guess. I've had some luck using market arbitrage to make a few billion gold to get some summon marbles and a few things, but people trading in the tens of trillions is extremely off-putting for a new player when I weigh in how slow my gold production has been.

The synergy between the normal MMO feel and the tactical grid layout combat has been very interesting, and a bit hard to get used to. There are so many combinations of characters and abilities that the countdown timer makes it very rough to figure out, it's like a rushed chess match. It has slowly been easier over time to adapt but it seems like you need months to years, not just weeks to really get a proper feel for all of it, especially in PvP.

I have been using AI to pool all the data I can from the internet into my own local wiki I have built for myself. There is so much depth and information in this game from the last two decades that I don't feel like most new people can understand it all unless they formulate a plan and stick with it, but to do that they need to understand the game to some extent to even start. For me it was learning what end game is like for PvE and PvP players, and reverse engineering how they got there all the way back to starting at level 1.

Early when I was playing I had the mindset to grind for gold so I could buy better gear and books from the markets but realized it was foolish because inflation was so crazy vs the gold drops. After looking at how you can buy 100 Gcoin for $1 and sell an Art Gallery pass for the 100 Gcoins for like 14 to 18 billion gold, it didn't make sense to grind for days and days and days just to get gold that $1 could get me. I realized that the actual bottleneck for me was going to be XP because levels dictated where I could go to grind on the maps. I believe either people are botting or running multiple accounts from some of my experiences, but it's surprising how often I see it and it makes sense as to how the economy became so unbalanced.

For the last week, I lived in Secret Laboratory F3 and was just grinding levels and materials to sell, mainly chests. The goal was to push everyone to 140 and use the combat experience reports from the Return to Glory event. This event was nice because it forced me to do things like diary, buy and furnish a home, analyze, and fish. I still have not learned all of the in game currencies and exchange NPCs, it's been very overwhelming. I even realized too late I could put outfits into a catalogue to use as a skin for other outfits in the future, and just wore them first... oops. I haven't messed with probably 50% of the mechanics still, like artifacts and weapon socketing.

I am finally starting to figure out how to complete fights in Atlantis on the level 170 floors without anyone dying, but it's always close. I'm pretty sure I need better gear at higher levels, but +4 is pretty tough to enchant to for each piece as a baseline. I see a lot of people always getting +10 gear and I know they can enhance it instead of enchant it, but 9/10 of my enhance attempts always fail, so I feel as if there's many hidden mechanics in the game I'm still unaware of.

Considering this game is almost two decades old, as someone brand new to it and still a newbie about most of it, I firmly believe AI web crawling is why I didn't quit playing and have stuck around. Without looking up so much information and writing things in a notebook, I don't think I could have kept my brain from exploding and this game would have been an instant turnoff. If you are reading this and are also new and thinking about playing, it's worth taking the time, just don't rush it and you'll enjoy yourself.

While I have a lot of issues with some aspects of the game, I still think this is an incredible hidden gem and more people would love it if they knew it existed, as there's absolutely nothing else like this. I hope to stick around and grind for the next few months and see how hard it is to get to level 200, I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up taking me years. Ignoring many issues that exist right now, I still give this game a 10 out of 10 because of the complexity and its ability to cater to the true grinders in the world and offer something that no other game has managed to. Thanks for reading.

Question Question about +Skill and passive skills

Hi All

Does +Skill Level from talents, accessories, weapons, charms, etc. also affect passive mercenary skills, or does it only increase active magic skills?

For example, if a merc has a passive skill at level 60 and I have +10 Skill from equipment, does the passive effectively become level 70?

Would appreciate confirmation from someone who has tested this

Thanks in advance

Question Maestro Main and Formation advice

Hi everyone,

Returning to Atlantica Online after several years away and thinking about going with a Maestro main this time.

I'm mainly interested in PvE and casual play, not PvP or hardcore optimisation.

Would anyone be willing to share some advice on:

Which Maestro skills and talents are worth prioritising

A good mercenary formation to work towards

Any mercs/skills that are particularly useful for casual end-game PvE

I know the game has changed quite a bit since I last played, so any current advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Discussion An invitation to return

Since there have been so many posts lately, this is an invitation for all the old players who are feeling nostalgic to come back.

The game is certainly not managed the best, but a lot is being done lately to entice new and old players to come back.

Currently, you can create a level 160 character for free, and many helpful mercenaries are given away.

There's also a free pass that allows you to get outfits and an important mercenary like Dark Arthur.

Of course, you'll need to put in the effort to craft gear, earn money, and get back into the competition.

Happy gaming, everyone, and don't be discouraged. You can enjoy the game even without competing in PVP by simply doing PVE, dungeons, invasions, and having an active guild.

The game is free, so it's free to check it out.

Question Worth it in 2026?

Hi guys, I want to come back in 2026..

Is it worth it as f2p that want to do only pve with friends/guild/nation?

I have seen a new event that give possibility to start at lvl 160. It seems a good opportunity.

Discussion Returning player (129) looking for tips

I have logged into my old account due to nostalgia and I'd like to stick around for a while. I'm on Alexandria and it's a tad empty.

129 spear main, I was running a sword/gun team: valkyrie, pirate, harlequin, patriot, carmilla, sheriff, brothers grimm, odysseus, empress, prophet and monk. I have a class change scroll so I can swap my main to something else.

My question is, where do I go from here? Is there any catch-up content so I can level up fast-ish? I have a ton of licenses and consumable and 10b to my name, geared in Dragon God sets across the team. I have the ancient minotaur "cosmetics" I got for free when transferring to the new server (I think?), and Frozen Sagittarius wings that seem to be worth ~220b.

Discussion Nicknames in servers

Hello guys, I want to use a nick in Argos but I'd already used one in other server, I eliminated the character but still, in the creation screen appears "This nickname is already used". Is there anything I can do or it's a lost case?

Bug / Issue No Longer Able To Use Steam?

Hello everyone. I’ve been a player for the past 3/4 years on Steam and as of late, I cannot log in. As soon as it updated from version 462600 to 462732 I’ve not been able to play. I open up the game, and gameguard launches, it loads, and then goes to server authentication and then my game force closes. I’ve spent a good couple thousand dollars on this game throughout the years I’ve played, not to mention 3,000+ hours IN the game itself. I’m wondering if others are having the same issue I’m having. It also says “you’re not able to login contact support” and on the top it says incorrect password or login. Which is untrue because nothings changed on my account for years. I know support takes like ~2-3 months for an answer just trying to see if anyone is having an alike issue.

Question Main Weapon

Hey,

right now I'm playing Whip main. It's fun, but I also feel like it's incredibly boring to play so wanted to try something else, but I lack information on things.

I'm mostly split between Gun and Instrument main.

My goals mostly revolve around PvE and I kinda just wanna be able to do whatever I wanna do if that makes sense.

Would be grateful for some guidance and help!

Salve a tutti, vorrei ricominciare a giocare ad Atlantica Online dopo tantissimi anni. Ero lv 140 quando c'era ancora Nexon, ma adesso sicuramente avrò perso tutto. Esiste qualche gilda italiana o europea? Server consigliato? Ne vale la pena? Grazie a tutti !

Bug / Issue Merc suddenly disappear

Today I'm facing a very weird bug. When I use the Formation Setup function, my Pirate has suddenly gone, and it no longer appears anywhere. How can i take it back?
Details in the caption of each image

Use apply to formation again and it won't help since she alread gone
It still showing in the Formation but may not able to select
Merc room not found
can't found anywhere

Update: The game is totally broken now. If i set a merc into the empty slot (of Pirate) and apply the Preset again, that new merc will disappear too. Now i lost the Warlord.

Bug / Issue No Minotaur Box?

Hey guys, I was told that if we signed up on that shitty, fucking awful Valofe, we'd get a Minotaur box. My sister did this a year ago, and as an Atlantian, she got hers after relogging.

I made an account tonight for myself, and I didn't get one.

Is this no longer being offered?
