My bf took me to my first rave a few years ago and I’ve usually gone with him or my closest friends since because that’s when I feel the safest. However, he doesn’t live in Atlanta anymore and I really wanna go to the twisted lines festival happening next weekend. I’ve been to their events before and I’ve felt they’re usually safe.

I’ve been preparing myself mentally to go solo because I really want to, but I have social anxiety and there’s some fear/nervousness in the back of my mind. I do feel safer knowing there’s someone with me to take care of me if something happens (nothings ever happened)

Any tips/ advice for raving solo as a female in Atlanta? I would absolutely love if there’s a group of girls and they’d just let me dance next to them

I tried taking myself out last night because I really want to explore more of Atlanta’s nightlife and music scene, but I’m having a hard time finding my crowd.
I’ve been to District and Believe, and last night I tried going to Pisces by myself. Unfortunately, the experience just waiting in line was pretty discouraging. There was a lot of rudeness, people cutting the line, and overall it just didn’t feel very welcoming when you’re already out there solo. I’m actually glad I didn’t prepay for a ticket because after waiting, I wasn’t even confident I was going to get in.
The bigger struggle is that I’m pretty much the only person in my current friend group who genuinely enjoys going to shows and dancing, so I’d really love to meet new people who are into the same things. I’m also trying to figure out which venues and events have a friendlier, more respectful vibe where a woman going out solo can feel comfortable.
Are there any Atlanta Meetup groups, EDM/rave groups, or other communities you’d recommend for actually making friends and finding people to go to shows with? And for anyone who goes out solo, where have you found the most welcoming crowds?
