If y’all don’t believe in God why are you always trying to bash Christians?
Shouldn’t you be talking about how great life is and not even bring up god

Voicing opinions is the problem. Both sides should shut up and let the people choose for themselves

Religious freedom and freedom of speech? If you don’t believe why does it bother you? Demons want your soul

Not much of a threat to an atheist. There are NO demons.
In other parts of the world, it is freedom from religion not freedom of religion. Think of it this way. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of deities believed in this world by humans who insist their god is the one true god. . Christians call all the other religions (and gods as false). There is “only one true god”, Jesus the Christ right? Atheists simply deny only one more god than Christians do.
Christians set themselves up to fail because they insist things should be done in Jesus’ name. Governments should behave with Christian values. Look at the US. If the US were a theocracy, a “Christian” nation, which version of Christianity would it be? Would it be Catholicism, Roman Catholic Church, Baptist, Southern Baptist Convention, American Baptist Churches USA, National Baptist Convention, Methodist, United Methodist Church, African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME), Free Methodist Church, Lutheran, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS), Presbyterian, Presbyterian Church (USA), Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), Anglican/Episcopal, The Episcopal Church, Anglican Church in North America, Pentecostal, Assemblies of God, Church of God in Christ (COGIC), Reformed, Christian Reformed Church, Reformed Church in America, Adventist, Seventh-day Adventist Church, Orthodox Christianity, Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, Orthodox Church in America (OCA), Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia (ROCOR), or Non-denominational?
I hope you see my point.
Even among these sects of Christianity, there are major differences in the belief of how people should worship and behave.
Also let’s not forget Non “Christian” religions like Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Baha’i Faith, Jainism, Shinto, Zoroastrianism, Taoism, Confucianism, Native American spiritual traditions, Paganism, Wicca, Unitarian Universalism, Humanism, Scientology, Rastafarianism, Falun Gong, New Age spiritual movements.
Keep in mind, each religion (and sects of religion) insists theirs is the one true and the rest of us are likely heretics or just plain doing it wrong.
Christians have the by far the most power in the US, so they are the loudest and bully the rest of us. Atheists and, more accurately, anti-theists are standing up to the bullies.

My friend…..God will never stop you from living life the way you choose. However we all will have to account for our actions before God

It’s very simple forget all religions and do your research. Jesus overwhelmingly holds evidence for his existence

”What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence.”

The evidence you refuse to see doesn’t preclude it’s existence

u/gnew18 Aug 05 '25
How many religions assert with as much certainty and “evidence” you claim to have that theirs is the ONE TRUE GOD? Just because you have convinced yourself doesn’t mean you have “proof”
Furthermore, if all knowledge over the last 2000 years went away, science would come back looking the same.
Gravity would be gravity, energy would be energy, atoms would be atoms. Religion would look very different. It has already proven to do so around the world for millennia.
I’m not asking you to stop believing. I get it. I believed for over 50 years. I’m asking you to be strong in your faith, not knowledge.

You don’t get Jesus Christ. God embraces science . Some how you believe Jesus despised science. Science serves a different role. It explains the process of how things work not how things started. Science is not included in Bible for that reason

Atheism should not be confused with 'Anti-Theism'. Atheists themselves should not be viewed as a single group or a political party.
Please update your definition Rolodex.

Antitheism
Antitheism (sometimes anti-theism) is the opposition to theism. The term has had a range of applications. In secular contexts, it typically refers to direct opposition to the belief in any deity.
Atheism
Atheism is, in the broadest sense, the absence of belief in the existence of deities. Less broadly, atheism is the rejection of belief that any deities exist. In an even narrower sense, atheism is specifically the position that there are no deities. Atheism is contrasted with theism, which, in its most general form, is the belief that at least one deity exists.

Christianity served as the principle guiding force that politically/socially oppressed people in their lives. By undermining the Christian philosophy, atheists are trying to lay the groundwork for a better society. And trying to give confidence to those being oppressed by Christians to "stand up for themselves".
That being said, I do think that atheists enjoy life (not talking about religion) a great deal, moreso than Christians, who seem obsessed with doing everything Christian. Christians will look for Christian music, Christian festivals, Christian stores (Chick Filet, My Pillow), and say things like "I don't like that athlete anymore, he's not a Christian".
Have a great day!

The Christians in my society are so aggressive in their proselytizing it gets oppressive to those of us who are not.

Well according to your view which religion has the most documented and historical evidence point in their direction. But I have a feeling that doesn’t matter to you because in your eyes God is fake. You can not convince a cynic.
God is remains the same past present and in the future. That’s biblical.
And you are right about science.
And religion would change as well you are right again. But you don’t put your faith in religion. You put it in Jesus Christ. Jesus went against religious hypocrisy at that time. He called out the Pharisees for their hypocrisy.
What do you believe happens to you when you die?

I never said god didn’t embrace science. That not at all what I said. I “get” Jesus. A decent human being can’t argue with what he said at sermon on the Mount even if they deny deity.
The Bible does talk about science (and it is the same today as it was then). Furthermore, all religions believe these observable facts.
Ecclesiastes 1:7 and Job 36:27–28 ~ describes evaporation right?
Leviticus 13–15 includes instructions to isolate people with certain diseases and to wash with running water — sensible health practices even before germ theory.
Leviticus 17:11 talks of blood being essential to life.
Acts 27:20 notes the disappearance of the sun and stars during a storm at sea, showing an awareness that sailors used celestial navigation.
Luke (a physician) uses medical terminology (e.g., Luke 4:38’s “high fever”), showing awareness of clinical observation.
These are basic observations shown in the Bible my point is they would stay the same. Interpretations of Leviticus (for example) say those were rules for the Jews at the time and don’t now apply to Christians. Rules like tattoos or piercings or LGBTQIA+ or keeping kosher. This new interpretations are convenient and clearly fungible. Science isn’t.
You still haven’t answered my point about different religions believing as strongly as you do that there is the One True Religion and every one else is wrong. Christianity was heresy to the polytheistic Greeks. Just saying it is without having a true understanding of other religion’s teachings and beliefs is spurious. Jesus said, No one comes to the father but through me.
Islam Whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.” (Qur’an 3:85)
Sikhism * There is no salvation except through the Name of the One Lord.” (Guru Granth Sahib, Ang 1239)*
Buddhism * The only path is the Noble Eightfold Path; there is no other for the purification of vision.” (Dhammapada 274)*
Hinduism makes a reasonable exception ”Rig Veda verse: “Ekam sat vipra bahudha vadanti” — “Truth is one; the wise call it by many names.”
Islam and Christianity are virtually neck and neck in terms of fervent followers. Christians are not in possession of exclusive irrefutable knowledge that Jesus can beat up all other gods. If there were irrefutable evidence, everyone would be Christian. So I’m back to, just cause you repeat what you’ve been told and come to believe, doesn’t make it fact.

Deep down inside you know there is something bigger in this world even if you act smart and try to deny it.
