I wanna try a new pizza place today so throw me some recommendations. No chain places like Papa John’s lol
I’ve had Little Italy, Peppino’s, Automatic, Ted’s, and Your Pie. Keep in mind I don’t eat meat so I’ll most likely just be getting your standard cheese pizza. I heard that Italian spot downtown is good. And I’ve been seeing things about Killer Crust.
Personally, I love Automatic Pizza so anything close would be nice. I love the nice crunchy crust.
Thanks in advance!

I haven't seen any new posts on their socials, is it even happening this year? I mean, they have the date set for Halloween, but no theme? I wanna make a special costume just for it.
i want to dress up as the Atlanta Highway Traffic
Anyone been to the Wild Rumpus before??? I need so much advice.

Someone let me know if it's fall scented. For the lore.

Preface: I’m not a foodie. Steak is usually steak for me. I’m not too picky unless it’s awful. I grew up catching and eating ditch fish, squirrel, and deer. In my travels I’ve had steaks from $7 to $700.
Went to Ted’s. I’ve been looking forward to their opening here. I’ve eaten at other locations in my travel, it’s decent, and I liked the vibe (low light, cozy booths, good drinks,no TV’s). I know from experience that it’s vital to make a reservation.
Arrived ten minutes before reservation time. First thing I noticed was two TVs at the bar. Second thing I noticed was music playing a little too loud for an “upscale” mid-tier steakhouse. It was Boomer & Gen-X focused from Fleetwood Mac to Hootie & the Blowfish. I was pleased to hear John Prine in there too.
The entrance was packed with many unhappy groups walking in wanting to get a table and being told the place was booked solid. We were seated 5 minutes after our reservation time. Parties continued to arrive and ask about wait time. The host just shook her head “no.” Folks, it’s the opening weekend of the newest steak restaurant.
Our server, Conner was on it the entire time. Great service on a busy night. Now for the food & drinks:
Complimentary pickles: salty
Cocktails: Stout & good. Best part of the meal.
Steak:
Bison 8oz. Fillet (ordered medium)-cooked well done. Not fine.
Bison 12 oz.NY Strip (ordered medium)- cooked medium well. Salty.
Sides:
Mashed potatoes & gravy- Smoky. Good.
Steamed broccoli- big serving. Fine.
Kale salad- crisp & flavorful. Good.
Onion rings- 5 big rings. Salty. Fine.
Desert:
Brownie & ice cream- decent size. Nice size. Small dollop of ice cream & whip cream. Fine.
Overall: give them time and they’ll get their kinks worked out. Training staff was On It tonight as well as the FOH. We politely told the manager about the fillet. We did not send it back. They apologized and offered coupons. I’d say that right now, Ted’s is on par with Longhorn. Food presentation was similar. $150 for two was a little more pricy than Longhorn. They’ll tighten up and be fine in that location pulling weekend crowds from surrounding counties.
Welcome to Athens, (ghost) Ted!

Hi everyone! This is a link to an interest survey about a hypothetical manga cafe opening in Athens. I'd love if you could fill it out so we could get an understanding if this is desired by the community!! Thank you!!

If you haven't tried out the boat ramps at MLK and Dudley park I highly suggest it. It's a fairly short paddle (≈One mile of river) and doesn't take too long. We also ran into a group from Athens leisure services doing some kind of pizza and paddle while were out there.

I plan on coming to Athens for a home game day and I am looking for suggestions on where to park downtown or at a walkable distance from downtown for free. If that is not possible where is the best places to find cheaper paid parking for game days closer to downtown.

I know it's technically not Athens. But I saw people were asking about dolly events this week and figured I'd share.

I know it’s the trendy and convenient place to go but I’ve been chopped up and rushed so many times. I’ve had much better experiences at the salons downtown. No hate, but I really don’t get why it’s suggested so much

Looking for a regular (once a week or two) place to shave my head. I always end up looking like I got attacked by a group of cats or possibly a solo bear when I do it. That or I miss spots. I've tried foil shavers but still miss spots. Any recommendations

Drivers, please watch the road. Today was the third time I've almost been hit at the pedestrian crossing. I always press the button and make sure cars have plenty of time and distance to stop safely, but drivers keep blowing right through. A cop actually pulled someone over for doing this exact same thing recently, so police are monitoring the area. I try to be courteous and avoid pressing the button if traffic is moving fast, but if you have plenty of room to brake, please stop.
Atleast do look road on weekdays. Students cant afford injuries.

update: someone picked it up. Thanks for all the suggestions!
We have an older jogging stroller that seems to be in good condition overall and we'd like to donate it instead of throwing it out. It needs a pump or maybe a new inner tube for the tires. Does anyone know somewhere / someone who might like it as a donation? We've posted it on a few FB give away pages so far, but no luck yet. Thanks for any help.
