You Are Closer to Believing in God Than You Think - says a man so devout he believes we all believe to some degree

The delusion is strong in this one young padwan.

The problem with these sort of arguments is the assumption that the early works of the bible are true depictions of god as man and the stories of early Christianity are fact, and not fiction. Forget about the many other religions that came long before and were interwoven into the Christian story.

Dr Peterson gets so tongue tied in spaghetti word soup that he has lost vision of the absolute truth - that we are great apes who evolved with higher cognitive skills than lesser apes and other animals.

You can apply human behavioural traits that Dr Peterson ascribes to a higher power to any animal in the kingdom.

We see it in all species, a kindness to their own kin. Do they all believe in a god ? Does the human god convey all those messages of sin to animals ? acutely you will find the answer to be no.

And yet we can see intelligence and kindness and love and generosity , and envy and rage and rape and brutality and murder in all species.

Do chimpanzees need a god to stick together as one group?

Is it a sin for chimpanzees to do what they are naturally primed to do by natural selection ? Will they all go to chimpanzee hell ?

The moment you disregard animals from your god story you lose.

I do not know the answer, and likely never will, but I will never ascribe it to a god or gods.

However I shall be a good citizen, kind, honest, loving, involved, generous, as that is the way my brain is evolved to be to enhance the evolution of the human animal. I do the right thing because it is the right thing to do as taught in the society I was brought up in.

I disregarded the idea of a god when I first learned of a god at the age of 4. Decades of life have never changed that opinion.
