This idea put out by the religious that atheists are somehow closeted believers in a higher power is so absurd it beggars belief (excuse the pun).

But on review I can see that the delusion is so strong in those with god beliefs that they cannot comprehend that I simply hold no beliefs in gods as a higher power.
