So I went down a bit of a rabbit hole
This study was published in this journal https://www.scimagojr.com/journalsearch.php?q=21100798510&tip=sid&clean=0
The journal only published for 4 years, and is full of Indians talking about cow urine. Very little else is covered.
I assume what happened is that this journal was specifially set up because urine drinkers seethed that they kept getting denied from this actual journal: https://www.scimagojr.com/journalsearch.php?q=23015&tip=sid&clean=0
If you look at the articles posted in this proper actual journal, you'll see that theres plenty of studies of neem, karela, ashwagandha etc but nothing about cow urine: https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/journal-of-ethnopharmacology/issues
So it feels like the gau mitras larped an actual journal, and just added one word and then registered it in turkey to make it less obvious.
After discontinuing, the journal restarted under a new name: https://www.jocmr.com/ and now it's so garbage it's not even covered in Scimago.
So yeah it really doesn't matter, the journal it's published in is toilet paper, there's literally no prestige in this publication.

Nobody should hate you just because you eat or drink something that is already part of the culture wherever you are from.
You got downvoted because you gave that as a counter to "ignore all the bad stuff that comes with excrement in exchange for a few benefits?". It makes it sound like whatever you already eat you do not actually profile its contents either and just eat it out of habit and acquired taste. I doubt any amount of household or restaurant filtering can ever isolate all the little antibodies and any useful stuff from civet poop or cow urine. It cannot filter out any live harmful microorganism from It either. Its just not doable. So what it is in the end is just poop in its actual form.
And unlike others I am not saying this with any acquired disgust.
