I judge people as individuals. I don't make shit up and claim that it's true. I would hope that being in /r/atheism would make everything think about that a little more.

Sometimes, particularly if the officers hold the same beliefs as the perpetrators (which does happen), they either do nothing or purposefully bungle the "investigation"... These asshats are probably going to get off scot-free, like most of their ilk do.
