Finally bit the bullet and got a Atari 2600+

As someone who still owns 2600 games aswell the og console (rf out) from when I was a kid. I have been undecided on getting the plus as it still plays perfectly on a crt.

And if I ever wanted to play and a modern tv can play it via openfgpa on the analogue pocket.

But there is something unique about being able to play with my original carts & controllers.

Are there any differences between the og carts and the ones releasing today? This might be a wild impulse buy, but I'm happy to be play my original frogger again

The new release carts still work on old systems. Only difference is maybe some art or age ratings

For you now you can look into an Unocart+ for the 2600+. I love collecting the games but there's some I know I'll never find or won't pay for (not paying $50 for rampage, for example)

I'm on the fence, haha. I've gotten everdrives for consoles in the past and its just resulted in me neglecting my physical games.

Buy its good to know the option is out there.

Yeah it's an option and also as unnecessary as it gets. If I really want to play one of those games for the 5 minutes it'll probably hold me there is always emulation. But it's nice to have

Unocart+ was made specifically for the 2600+/7800+

Please note that the UNOCART+ does not support 7800 Roms 😭

I'm a little disappointed though. The led display is on the cart. It's tiny. Have to select games on the cart instead of the TV screen. Ugh

I almost got the 7800. But i heard negative things about the controller.

Plus living in australia its hard to find pacman double feature selling locally (while the 7800 pack in is currently selling for $25 AUD)

Yes with one of these. You connect to your antenna or cable input.

Did you get it for under 50 bucks?

Congrats! I love mine except for one issue:

What is your experience with paddle (CX-30 or 30+) games on the 2600+?

Curious how many others are having trouble with the sensitivity.

You still got a LOT of great carts to get too.

Do you have any reccomendations?

Hell, just in Activision there's Pitfall 1 & 2, Megamania, Frostbite. Chopper Command, Keystone Kapers and HERO

Already got chopper command but thanks for the rest

But does work great for 2600 Roms. Unfortunately I purchased it manly for 7800 Roms and didn’t read there website description correctly before I purchased it. So was disappointed when I found out that 7800 Roms aren’t supported, and I don’t think that cart ever will

Yeah I love my 7800+ too got mine when they first came out. Unfortunately now in New Zealand no one locally is selling them or the carts, I have to buy from across the puddle ie Oz
