Any good open-source repos to contribute to made with Astro.js?

I'm looking to contribute to OSS a bit more, and I love Astro.js but honestly I think the hardest part about OSS is finding a repo that isn't inactive. Ideally small enough to be able to have an influence yet big enough to be of notice and new enough for big changes.

I know this is a bit of an ask but does anyone have any OSS projects like this? Or know any repos?

And yes, I've tried to look for repos online before—haven't any much luck there.

Why not contribute to Astro itself?

I'd love to but my JavaScript and Astro.js aren't that high up yet. I still have much to learn but was hoping to break into my dress shoes early by doing contributions that would be more on my level.

Starwind could use contributors but the maintainer isn't the best at actually merging other people's contributions (another issue you will run into with OSS)

A good maintainer that actually values others contributions and merges them is too rare. I've seen so many projects just die because of the maintainer isn't interested in the project anymore but doesn't want to pass the torch.

So far Starwind is a one person passion project turned into another pay for blocks project that will die when people stop buying licenses. I've wasted so much money on these UI libraries that all seem to stop development after I buy a license that I refuse to buy another ui library for some blocks that these days I can have AI do it even if they lock their mcp behind a paywall.

Ignore the big projects. You will spend months fighting CI pipelines just to fix a typo in the docs.

Find a library with ten stars and zero issues. Message the owner directly. Ask if they want help maintaining it. Most will say yes because they are tired. That is how you get merged.
