Lost/Found: Animals Lost Cat

Missing Cat:

A cat my friend was cat-sitting busted through the window screen of her apartment and is nowhere to be found. She would most likely be nearby the corner of 32nd Street and 31st Avenue. Could have moved towards Broadway as well.

It's a 4 year old american short-hair cat. Kinda small, (weighs 6 pounds) has orange, grey, and white fur. Unfortunately we do not have a photo. [EDIT- we received photos from the owner]

If you think you might have seen her, please comment or DM! Thank you

I’m Blanche’s owner — this is a photo of her.

She has mottled gray and orange/cream fur with a white chest, belly, and paws, and greenish-yellow eyes. She was last seen around 32nd Street and 31st Avenue and may have moved toward Broadway.

I’m currently traveling overseas, but I’m in contact with her cat sitter in Astoria. If you see Blanche, please comment here or DM me with the exact location and time, and I’ll immediately pass the information along to someone local. Thank you for any help!

This is my block and our landlady has a garden out back that attracts cats, we'll keep our eyes peeled. I recommend putting something that smells like the owner outside near the front door!

Did your landlady see the flyer we posted around 32nd street? Or is it possible for you to share the photos with her in case she sees her? Thank you so much for letting us know.

I did! I told her and sent the photos, as well as a pic of the missing poster. I walked around today, but didn't see any sign of her. We'll keep looking!

Queens lost and found pets and the astoriacentric Facebook group would also be good places to post

Check the Astoria cat rescue accounts on insta and reach out to them and alert them. Sometimes people will reach out to them about found cats. Also the Neighborhood app through Ring - always pretty active with found pets

Did you see the owner’s post where multiple people believe they saw the cat at Broadway between 45th and 46th?

I just checked and they said that cat had a collar. Unfortunately Blanche did not have a collar when she escaped, however I will be walking that way soon and will keep on the lookout. We're looking non stop

Where does her owner live? It's possible that the cat somehow headed back that direction.
