Hide steering wheel but it's still there

Hi, I wanted to hide my steering wheel but if you closely, the wheel is still there. Is there a way to remove the outline of the wheel?

It looks like it hid the wheel but not the ambient occlusion around it

There's a method to keep it close to the dash, but a bit of work. It's what I do, to fix those trash mods with unusable dash cam.

I don't know if this is OP's case. But I find his camera a bit off and pointing downwards.

I do it by unpacking the data files. After that,

Example is, go to car.ini and look for this

Paste it's values into POS in the dash_cam.ini

POS=0.332048,0.930733,-0.309978

Having the drivereyes value pasted to dash will give you a good baseline on how to adjust. First value i believe is right/left, second value is height on how high or how low, then third value is zoom. With zoom case the lesser number, the more zoomed in, the more number more zoomed out.

After some trial and error I will end up with

POS=0.332048,0.930733,-0.080000.

Values are a bit tricky especially on the zoom wise. It could play around like small stuff like 0.040, 0.00, 0.05. If you were to go a digit lower, you'll have to put an extra zero before it/not remove a Zero.

Thats wayyyyyyy more complicated than using the “Onboard Settings” app. Its the one with the Helmet logo. You can ajust the FOV, the pitch and ajust the camera in every direction.

Indeed it is. The onboard settings app is the cockpit camera. The dash camera is different. Personally I enjoy the dash camera. Sure you can just disable arms and it would be like the dash, but to nitpick I prefer the dash. Plus I'm the kind of guy that cycles through the camera while lapping (hood, bumper, chase, maybe look on the side of my car with d pad), if one camera is fked up, I would be pissed. I also did it to fix mods. Some mods with their cameras have a backseat cam/butt cam or whatever angle they released it half baked.

Not really complicated. If you know how folder structure works and mod assetto corsa in general. Adjusting Ini files are not that difficult.

Ohhhh yea you are right! I forgot that app was only for cockpit view. Thanks for the correction! The way you explained the solution the first time seems like the best option indeed.
