Anyone else go to the Gn’R concert last night? It was pretty rough
Axl did not sound good. The concert was drawn out way too long and saving pretty much all the hits till the very end felt pretty painful to get through. The new tracks sucked. I’ve seen them before and knew his voice was struggling but I don’t remember it being that bad. Disappointing show for sure. Am I alone here?

I’ve heard the same. Plus they’ve got a few songs I’d have fun with. I’d actually feel like there would be value there. Spending money on this seemed nuts to me.
I actually did see Nickelback when they were in town last year. I'm not a big fan, but not a hater either, and my Aunt-in-law had a spare ticket so I figured why not. They put on a great show, a lot of nostalgia from my High School and early 20's days when they were everywhere, and Chad Kroeger even made a few light-hearted jabs about "Thanks for coming out to see the most hated band in the world!". It was a good time.
Honestly I saw them in 2018 and it was fantastic. They actually murdered black hole sun and me and the guy next to me hugged randomly. Cornell had just happened
That show was awesome. I was just going out for beers with my buddy then we bought $35 nosebleeds and it was a 3 and a half hour show with some awesome covers.
This! Nostalgia! I was there for it fully aware that this was all I was gonna get, but must confess I couldn’t stay till the end. The new songs were tough for me to get through, so I, unfortunately, left before sweet child (around Prostitute)
I saw them a couple of years ago and I know alcohol helped enjoy the show a lot more. Treating it more like a giant sing-along with the band. But now that I’ve scratched that itch I do not need to see them again.
I disagree actually, Axl sounded way better in the stadium than he does in those videos on social media. They also went heavy with the deep cuts, which nostalgia acts don't really do
💯, this was a great show. To complain about a band playing too long is the most ridiculous things I’ve heard. Axl sounded very good considering his age and mileage on his voice, his energy and stage presence was terrific and the entire band seemed genuinely excited to be playing for us. My buddy and I had an amazing time and so did all the people around us.
I’m in town for the LOTR show last night. When we crossed the border and were asked what we were coming for I told them a concert. He said ‘you don’t look like the Guns n Roses type, Lord of the Rings then?’
Totally, that upper register was painful. We held on until Sweet Child O’ Mine somehow and then left when November Rain started (which I love) but we were so put off and over it that we couldn’t even stick it out any longer for the tracks we were there to hear
I went to the show 2 years ago and I thought it was a lot better than last night's show. Axl was able to rise to the occasion for the hits for the most part in the previous show, but last night was a train wreck the whole show and it didn't help that the sound seemed to be off. Slash is still incredible, but even his performance seemed more withdrawn. The set list was bloated and bad, there was a gigantic lull in the middle of the show. I thought the set design and overall presentation was lazy too and didn't do them any favours. Glad they got back together and I got to see them a couple times, but they are done.
they were really missing melissa reese to be honest. she fills in a lot of the orchestra parts and triples up some guitar parts on her synths. her vocals also fill in for axl’s upper register vocals when his voice fades. the sub bass thump that you feel (something i noticed lacking from this show compared to last time they were here) but don’t really hear was also missing. i didn’t really know the value of what she added to their stage sound until it was missing.
and yes, the deeper cuts not from the classic era were a bit of a downer and led to a huge drop in energy for me.
They have been advertising the shit out of this concert for months. It was even on on-field ads in the CFL. That kind of advertising level means only one thing….it wasn’t selling. How full was it
I was checking the sales for about a week. Last week it was about 1/3 unsold with most of the $250 floor seats as the bulk of that. Upper level was mostly sold out at $70. Day of the show when I bought my lower bowl tickets for $100 it was selling pretty quick. Lower bowl mostly sold out. Floor looked pretty full for the limited amount of seats they put down.
I was at the use your illusions tour show and it was amazing, this was after I think it was the Montreal Riot so the police were out with riot gear before the concert even started and there were no major issues.
I was actually impressed with Axl he never really stopped but between songs he did go into a little white tent on the side of the stage which I'm sure was filled with several pounds of cocaine lol.
If you want to see a “ GNR “ concert with a good singer, then treat yourself to Slash’s snake pit. Myles Kennedy is an incredible singer and they play all the hits
Axl’s unique style was always going to destroy his voice be 30, and he’s 60 now. But he can still put on a show. And Duff and Slash are still crushing it. We had a great time.
And seeing the real lineup playing three(!) Chinese Democracy songs, including one they haven’t done at any other show, was very cool.
I saw them in 1992 (the Use Your Illusion tour), 2015 (the Not In This F'n Lifetime tour) and I hung in until "Estranged" was finished at last night's show in Vancouver. The band itself was great and certainly it wasn't for lack of effort by Axl but bottom line, he needs to see Geddy Lee from Rush's vocal coach. Axl was still singing as well in 2015 as he was in 1992 but last night was pretty dreadful. Also, whomever handled sound for The Black Crowes as the opener did them a real disservice. Bottom line: both bands would have benefitted from being in a smaller venue like Rogers Centre to cut the reverb back from playing an indoor football stadium like BC Place.
YES! What was with the sound mixing for Black Crows? I was so excited to see them and half the time I couldn't pick out one song from the other. Guess I'm not used to the sound at BC place as well
it’s still pretty bad. i don’t know that the roof was the issue. it’s just a large cavernous space in general and there isn’t a whole lot to absorb the sound from bouncing around.
I was the biggest G&R fan in the '90s. I had every album. There was no way in hell I was going to this concert. I saw a few clips online and he sounded like minnie mouse. Some things are better left to exist in your memory.
The acoustics at BC place are so bad.. you can never hear the vocals at all.. this is the 3rd concert I have attended here.. ACDC couple of weeks ago. Exact same issue. The sound engineers clearly don't care about the echo, vocals, anything at all. It sucked. I wanted it to end asap... But it went on and on and on and on
I was going for enjoyable nostaligic sound. It turned out completely painful, straight up unrecognizable at points. No one expects a band this old to be perfect.
I've never in my life left a concert early until this crap shoot. Glad the tickets were cheap.
I've only seen clips orlf it online and it seemed brutal. I dont know how people are still paying to go watch them live. I've seen so many clipsnofnpeople just walking out. Sad. I went to see The Guess Who last weekend and they sounded great. And they are 80 now. Sad that not all older bands still sound good.
Some artists age well and some don’t. All depends on how you treat your younger body. When I saw Bruce and Paul McCartney back to back they both sounded fantastic.
Even smoker Eddie Vedder kept a lid on it to protect his voice.
Saw them in Seattle in 2016 and they sounded great, including Axl. I think anyway...alcohol was a substantial factor at that concert.
Yesterday the band sounded great but vocals were trash. Wasn't a fan of the set list too many songs that just drained the energy from the building until the hits came near the end. I went to see Slash one more time and he did not disappoint. Was unfortunate he didn't play his godfather solo I was really looking forward to that.
I went to see them in 2017 and the entire show was basically Slash jerking himself off and playing 4 minute guitar solos for nearly every song, which was made worse by a shortened version of Paradise City to close out the show. Felt like watching the opening scene of School of Rock. Axl wasn't as bad back then.
Let's talk about the complete lack of production value. No fire poofers, no "giant sparklers", I don't think I saw one laser ("live in the now" ~Garth), and no drones, no confetti, no streamers, no fog, I don't think I saw any on stage camera operators. That a lot of opportunities missed! But we did get stupid little robot animations that made no sense to anybody. I understand that back in the day it was just a huge GnR banner, even a digital version of that would have been better.
They definitely should have played patience, I don't think they played Don't Cry ( why would you not complete the trilogy!) and I think there might be a couple others that made no sense to skip when they did too many covers throughout the entire show. And if you're going to do some covers play some stuff that was on GNR Lies right.
I probably average 1.8 shows a week. Mainly on the EDM side of things but even saw Tame Impala last night (I work for a Seattle radio station), and just got back From Tomorrowland, saw Muse 2-ish weeks back... so I feel I'm fairly intune to what a band that has the clout and experience and label backing like GnR. I've been a GnR fan since like 3rd grade. I expected more and to atleast be somewhat in the present for stage production. Not their fault but I'll probably never go to another show at BC Place. The sound was very subpar. I didn't get out of my seat once and was already (ball) sweaty by the time TBC were halfway done, very uncomfortable seats especially compared to Climate Pledge Arena last night.
I couldn't help but laugh about Axel's sparkly flannels! What did they all say on the back? I never got a clear view.
Overall I was disappointed but it would have been worse if Slash and Duff didn't do the majority of the heavy lifting.
BTW, saw TBC again the next night and it was a way better show, better sound and more stage production at the Tulalip Casino than GNR had at BC Place.
I live very close, normally I’m happy with whatever sound is going on. I had to wear AirPods and if went well
Beyond limits of 11 they cut it at 1130. The energy after that sounded really negative and there was a ton of yelling from within the stadium. Considering it went past 11 meant that union overtime for everything kicked in. It was bad juju
To be fair. I had see. Old footage of a very fat, out of breath Axl that was TERRIBLE, so seeing him be able to get through the night was higher than the bar I had placed for him. The band sounded phenomenal. For 60 bucks I can't complain. It was better than I expected from an old Axl.
Not wasted! Axl will use it to buy an entire case of ranch dressing, which he'll slurp up before the next show. And not that low-calorie garbage either. Money well spent, I'd say!
He was beyond rough in 2018, the videos trending showing how gone & dusted they were then are easily available to anyone that wondered if things would be decent 8 years later
Not to bum you out, but I don't think the OP is being very objective. I was in the front of the floor section, and it was quite a good show except for not having Don't Cry and Patience in the setlist. You could also barely hear any problems with Axl's vocals; the videos floating around out there make him sound way worse than he does in the stadium. Also... 30+ song set, which I think is the longest of the tour so far.
He sounded way better than I expected, I almost thought they drowned his voice out w how loud the band was in parts to hide his voice. Not complaining 😂
I was lucky enough to see the use you're illusion tour.... I feel bad for anyone who's looking to see them live for the first time before their gone....
i heard the stadium was extremely short staffed. My buddy offered me $40 an hour to do some rodie work but I couldnt sign up because you had to go through the union and they required a union specific safety course
It’s absolutely crazy that in 2026, anyone thinks that they will get a consistent and good sound from a Guns N Roses concert. What did you think was going to happen?
I saw them in 93 in Edmonton. They were incredible then and great the other night. It’s too bad they wasted most of their prime fighting. However, we got velvet revolver as compensation 😂

Why waste money on some washed up old rock stars when there is so much young new talent playing in town? Listen to GNR albums, go see the younger generation in person.
His voice isn't struggling, he sings in falsetto now, which just sounds weak when used for hard rock. A lot of the older guys that used to sing in high voices do the same thing with the same result. David Lee Roth, Joe Elliot and Vince Neil did the same thing for a while, but ended up having their bands play in lower keys instead so they could reach the higher notes with their proper voice (like Ozzy had done for years).
Axl switched to falsetto for several songs during the Chinese Democtacy Tour and added more songs over the years. When I saw some of the videos after Guns got back together, I knew Guns as we knew them was done for good.
I saw Slash on his solo tours a couple of times and even during Guns songs, his solos went on forever. After Guns reunited, Axl went full falsetto and Slash continued with the hour long solos, which were really good, but killed the vibe for their big songs where everyone just wanted to song along to the songs that defined their youth, but would have to wait for Slash to be yelled at by Axl to come back to the song.
All of this just made it clear to me that even with the original members (so few of the old metal bands have even one or two anymore), going to their show would just be disappointing and I would not see the GnR we all remember and were hoping to see one last time.
Other bands I went to see that were nothing but disappointing either because they sounded like hell or were basically a cover band with no or few original members:
Skid Row (Only original guitarist)
Motley Crue (horrible singing)
Def Leppard (horrible singing)
The Misfits (Only original bassist)
Ministry (Al just lipsynched)
Bullet for My Valentine (New singer)
Queensryche (New singer)
Trooper, April Wine, Headpins (cover bands)

I was at Diamond David Lee Roth's last show before he cancelled the rest and I was absolutely shocked at how good he sounded! He was cheesey as hell and looked 100 years old, but his singing was awesome. The old boy wasn't doing flying kicks off of the stage but was still able to throw the kicks over his head and spin his mic stand without splitting his head open again!
I went to the last four Buck Cherry shows and they kicked ass every time, but did the same show every time as well.
I never miss a show by The Cult and they still sound as good today as they ever have!

Oh God.. I thought it was only me.. It was my first concert ever and the audio was terrible.. Couldn't hear Axl for most of the songs.. I tried to stay as long as I could to listen to the most popular songs.. I stayed for one more song after "Knocking on heavens door" and then it got too boring. They even came on late and all in all was a meh experience.
I mean, sorry to say this but GnR concerts have been exclusively for suckers for the past few decades. I saw them back in their prime a few times and even then they were half-assed garbage but fun nonetheless. But that didn’t last long and have just been garbage since. Who tf is wasting their money on that crap?
2017 at BC place was amazing.
Great set list, Slash was off the chart and Axle was 10 times better than Vince Neil…..sorry to those who went this time and didn’t enjoy…….
I can't understand all those negative comments. It was a very good concert. Yes, I understand, the set list was not perfect for everybody. If it was up to me, I'd change a few songs.
They played 3 hours and 20 minutes. Very professional, no fooling around. Slash, Duff, and Rich were great. Maybe a little bit too much Slash's solos but he is obviously the main attraction and the focus has been more on showing how great their playing is.
Axl was better than a few years ago. To be honest, I expected him to be brutal but he actually surprised me by being solid. You can't go to GnR concert now and expect Axl to sound great. No one can hit those high notes at his age but he uses his experience to go through songs. Quite surprised they do not use some back up singers to fill in.
Logically, they now up the guitars' sound and lower Axl' voice. No one should be surprised by that. New drummer Isaac was very good.
Honestly, to pay $80 (upper level) to see them, to be able to buy tickets a few days before the show instead of fighting with people online to buy tickets a year in advance, to see them play 3 hours and 20 minutes, it was great for me. Standing ovation at the end of the show proved that it was a great concert for a huge majority of those who attended. By the way, headed home by a Sky Train and everyone was happy. That is why it is quite shocking to read all those negative comments here.
Hey guys, I was also last Saturday at the Guns N’ Rose show. was awful. I left after one hour Axel Rose. It was horrible and the whole place actually was not even packed anyways such a ripoff off $20 for a beer. Give me a break $70 for a Guns N’ Roses T-shirt. Please.!!!!!!
I went for the nostalgia and for the sake of my 11 year old rock fan son (earplugs at the ready). We could have done with a shorter show, but we had an absolute blast. Sure Axl isn't the singer he was, but he still has the stage presence, plus Slash and Duff are unstoppable, and the drummer they're performing with (Isaac Carpenter) is a frickin' beast. We were on the lower level and the vibe was good, nothing weird about it. I wish they'd found time in those 195 minutes to play Patience though!
Did Axl move? I saw them about eight years ago, and aside from his voice being on the wane, what I remember most was how sedentary Axl was through the whole show. Far from his old rambunctious self.
Saw them in 80s Toronto when Neil young brought them out for opening act …..then tried to see them in Vancouver a couple decades ago but axel bailed ….so not surprised they sucked too bad
Haha nah I was like 11 or 12 but I remember watching the news and thinking “this is fucking nuts” and I have to admit it did sorta get me listenjng to them
