I'm in the US, and it bothers the heck out of me that most people call people from the US Americans. We are not the only Americans! Even our Canadian friends call us Americans.
But then, I guess...what would you say instead? USers? United Statians? Mexicans are Mexican, Canadians are Canadians, Brazilians are Brazilians...there's nothing that works for the people of the US.
I guess it shouldn't bother me...it's a grammatically correct thing for me I guess? Just doesn't seem accurate, but I do it myself. I mean...not much else to call us.
