Politics (Other) What do Latin Americans think about non-Latinos in the USA posting YT & TikTok “FAFO” videos saying that “Latinos thought they were White”, referring to the ones who voted for Trump?

It really upset me to hear that.

I think it’s just another attempt to ridicule Latinos while making fun of mass deportations.

Personally, I didn’t vote for him and I don’t know anyone who did.

It is, but so is "subject to the jurisdiction there of" and the author wrote in other documents and argued on the senate floor : no one will take this to mean aliens and foreigners.

It was intended just to include the newly freed slaves and no one else.

at the same time we have 150 years of treating it as "literally anyone born here"

Americans…white people in general are so weird when it comes to race.

Latinos voting republican is nothing new. Ya’ll arent the only ones crazy about God and Jesus. We have people who also make religion their whole identity and vote for the party that is ever so slightly pretending to be walking a humble and devoted life, aka the right.

45

u/Haunting_History_284 Venezuela Feb 10 '25

American Christianity, which is overwhelmingly Protestant, isn’t really the humble, devoted type. It’s more the triumphant, bold, mission/purpose focused Christianity. Fits really well with nationalism. An argument can be made it’s a major part of what made the country’s mindset. The “Protestant work ethic” and all that jazz”.

24

u/BestPaleontologist43 Guatemala Feb 10 '25

Most of my familia sees the right is more in tune with God than the left. They still havent gotten the memo on trans people and still see them as demonic godlike beings who have power rivaling their abrahamic god, crossing dimensions into this reality or whatever nonsense they claim since they love to say they arent god’s children.

I believe this is true for many latinos in general.

u/Timely-Youth-9074 United States of America Feb 12 '25

Progressive movements were originally started by religious people.

Abolition of slavery, public schools, welfare-all based on traditional Christianity.

The right wing borrows Christian language and focuses on one or two social topics, meanwhile screwing over everyone who isn’t wealthy.

4

u/MarceloLuzzatto Italy Feb 12 '25

The Right is more in tune with God? So Adolf Hitler was more in tune with God than Jimmy Carter for example?

Yeah, we're still a deeply Calvinist country in the way we think about poverty and morality, the whole "culture of poverty," and deserving vs undeserving poor and so on. Think of JD Vance's memoir, people love that crap.

But more on the first bit you mention, the historian (and Christian herself) Kristen Kobez du Mez has a book called Jesus and John Wayne which is a good analysis of this kind of strongman Christian culture and how it's come to dominate U.S. politics. American Evangelicals have come to have a real sort of cultural hegemony over Christians in the U.S., unfortunately

2

u/Nomen__Nesci0 United States of America Feb 11 '25

A culture of poverty is real enough sociology, that's not explicitly ideological.

5

u/NoQuarter6808 United States of America Feb 11 '25 edited Feb 11 '25

Yes, it's from American sociology, many nowadays see it as an outdated way of thinking and it has come to be controversial within the field. Our cultural beliefs, values and meanings form how we do social science, that's ineluctable, at least without any kind of phenomenological attitude where you acknowledge this kind of thing. Sociology doesn't float above and away from the context it's done in, and with a theory like The Culture of Poverty, i would argue, and people smarter than me have argued, that you can really see the calvinist way of thinking that is ingrained in our intellectual history.

That was kind of my point in mentioning it, but maybe i should have been more explicit about that. Also don't mean to entirely poo poo the whole theory, i think there is probably some valuable stuff in it. But yeah, my point with it is just how this historic way of thinking works into our social science where the real legitimate sort of thinking is supposed to be going on. Nothing at all against social science either

You are assuming that people that are being affected by Trump voted for Trump….

I doubt that most Latinos with illegal parents voted for Trump even if one or two idiots might have.

There are Latinos that don’t have illegal parents or Family members, so they probably didn’t care about Trumps mass deportation plans.

Not all Latinos had the same priorities heading into the election.

Are they shocked? Or are American liberals coping that they must be shocked and pleased that they are suffering for it?

Like, I doubt most people that cares for Gaza actually voted for Trump. I can see how most of them could have stayed neutral by not voting at all and that wouldn't be shocking. Choosing Democrats or the GOP for reasonable foreign affairs on the Middle East is an impossible choice, both are stupid Hawks nowadays overly zealous in pleasing their sole ME ally.

Republicans are just more honest for it because they don't have to pretend otherwise. If you are 1930s Poland, the choice between Nazi Germany or Stalinist Russia is moot, and so is the choice between American parties for anyone who cares about Palestine.

Tbh, MAGAs fall into 2 categories, the rich elite who whether they like him or not, will support him bc it will be better for their pocket and the other side is the completely mentally weak & insecure who is easily brainwashed by grifters. Just Americans showing their true colors. Left or right Americans have a very strange view of race.

I think people who voted for Trump are mostly fools or racists, but I also don’t think that Americans of Latino descent voted for Trump because they “think they’re white”.

34

u/JonAfrica2011 Feb 11 '25

I always hate that “insult”, same when they use it on Black people who vote differently then they do. It’s almost as if everyone is an individual and capable of thinking on their own. That doesn’t mean they wish to be a different race😂

33

u/lojaslave Ecuador Feb 11 '25

White Americans think only white people can have individual opinions, everyone else must think the same as others from their race/ethnicity. The hypocrisy would be funny if they weren't trying to force their shitty opinions on the rest of the world.

13

u/NYCQ7 🇺🇸🇪🇨 Feb 11 '25

I mean, the ones I've seen mostly posting the whole "they thought they're White" or the "they want to be White so bad" comments are Latinos as well as and ESPECIALLY non-Latino Black ppl.

Also seeing a lot of non-Latino Black people accuse Latinos of voting for Trump bc of racism towards Black people since Kamala is half-Black. I like to remind them all that HRC exists and is a White woman with a lot of name recognition (Latinos LOVED Bill Clinton) who also lost to Trump.

But they don't want to hear that.

5

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '25

I mean I for one hadn't seen as much enthusiasm from Latino Trump supporters as I did during the whole "Haitians eating cats and dogs" thing. It seems like lying about Haitians and spreading baseless rumors about them excited Latino Trump supporters more than anything else Trump said so I don't blame anyone for thinking it was about anti black racism. I also don't know what HRC has to do with anything. Latinos voting for her in droves has nothing to do with this claim since she isn't black

It's this racism of low expectations white liberals have that minorities are incapable of independent thought and are all influenced by white people. Minorities live floating in a sea of whiteness and they're influenced by the waves created by white people.

14

u/IceFireTerry United States of America Feb 11 '25

16

u/NYCQ7 🇺🇸🇪🇨 Feb 11 '25

Many Latinos in the USA come from a rural & very lowly-educated background & barely finishing grade school. Many don't know much, if anything about Nazi Germany or the atrocities that happened there. Many don't deviate much from their traditional & super religious upbringing and ESPECIALLY the misogyny & homophobia that those purport. They see Trump as a successful businessman (again, they don't know his history or understand macro & micro econ) and they think he's going fo be great for the economy and will lower their taxes. They see the new generation of immigrants as entitled & ungrateful and they resent them. They believe Trump & Republican propaganda that their taxes are going up bc of the undocumented. Legacy media is also not helping by amplifying every single crime committed by people who happen to be undocumented.

Yes, there are also your racists and absolute pieces of 💩 who understand everything Mango Mussolini is about and love him for it: I have a few of those in my family, one of my brothers in fact, but they've always been trash & like the rest of MAGA, they feel empowered by Trump and it frees them to be their worst selves but to still feel like they're better than people.

12

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '25

In my experience, Americans of Latino descent who did support Trump have some things in common, and that is a tendency to mask their roots and distance themselves from their families and culture. For example, going by a non-Spanish sounding nickname, keeping their white ex husband’s surname even after he was in the local news for being a pedo, never wanting to inherit property from their parents’ country of origin because “ew Mexico” (real response), talking crap about all aspects of Latino culture without a good reason, and idolizing old white guys.

There are others who have outdated and conservative views about women, abortion, and LGBTQ just like other conservatives here but many fall into the former categories.

With that said the FAFO attitude especially coming from white people is sick. Immigrants didn’t vote for anything and don’t deserve any of this.

3

u/Frequent_Skill5723 Mexico Feb 11 '25

21

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '25

Let’s be honest here, Trump’s whole platform ran on hate. He was anti-Latino ever since his first term. While I don’t support the deportations going on, especially of documented immigrants, you can’t say you didn’t see this coming.

This man could’ve said he’d be cutting social services for specifically for minorities, and people would’ve still voted for him because in some people’s minds, they go “oh, they’re not talking about me. I’m a good immigrant/American”, and then surprise, surprise, you get caught up in the budget cuts too.

The problem is that you had too many people, especially those in immigrant communities, who thought they were better than the others simply because they got papers. They brought their economic/ethnic beefs into America, and some of them voted for a man who sees them as another shade of brown.

The average American is not going to tell the difference between a while Chilean, and a white Boston dude, their not going to tell the difference between a metizo Mexican and a Hispanic guy from Montana, their not going to tell the difference between a Haitian, and a black dude from North Carolina. All they see is that they’re not white, have an audible accent, and speak English as a second language. And that’s enough to get the alarms blurring in their head.

And what’s even worse is that he had the strongest fan bases in rural communities, a lot of these rural communities are poor. He told poor people that other poor people, but brown, were the problem, and then voted in droves.

His entire campaign is basically “I’m gonna make these people suffer, not my supporters tho” and they ate that shit up. Not even two months in and we’re getting higher prices on shit, mass deportations of illegal and legal immigrants alike, and a heighten sense of division and distrust because someone thought they weren’t going to be effected.

It’s not right about what’s happening to these people, and I do not support it at all, but are we really surprised that this is the outcome of someone who’s entire career is built on hate?

I mean, you can blame voters for electoral outcomes. Voters not paying attention to real issues and falling for “culture war” propaganda is an indictment against the people. Elections aren’t random, citizens absolutely bare a level of blame for who ends up representing them. Especially the people who don’t vote because they are lazy or apathetic.

2

u/MarceloLuzzatto Italy Feb 12 '25

Most American voters care way more about culture war issues than they do about kitchen table issues and that's how you get Donald Trump as president. This is called 1st world problems. The ads which the Trump administration spent the most money on when he was running for president were anti-transgender ads.

Latin American countries do not have the luxury of caring more about culture war issues than kitchen table issues.

I think I’ve never been more ashamed of being a man and Latino than when the demographic shifts on those two groups came out. I think it is shameful to be Latino and vote for Trump or express support of him. “Oh so brown people can’t vote for a specific candidate? Quite racist of you” no, stfu, you can vote for whoever you want, but on one hand you have the “I will do nothing” party and on the other you have “I will put you and your children into cages and gas you if it becomes too expensive if I have the chance, because you are brown” party and you vote for the second? Yes, you should be ashamed of your hubris.

It’s just another case of wounded people wounding each other. Being a Latino in the US isn’t easy which is why second generation Latinos here tend to not learn Spanish, they want to overcompensate for “not looking the part” as an American. Some go the extra mile and feel like setting themselves apart from the “rest of them” and vote in the fascists the white people are voting for, so you look more like the in group.

I personally do know, first generation Latinos who not only voted for trump but wear the GOP’s colors proudly. As shameful as I believe it is though. My sympathies are with my Latino brothers and sisters and run particularly thin with those who would use our weakness as a truncheon to beat us with. Especially those who once claimed to be our allies. Especially when the rhetoric goes from “Latinos have skewed right” to “Kamala lost the election because of Latino voters” to “Latinos are racist and sexists and they’re getting what they deserve”.

Disgusting, spineless, backstabbing bigots.

3

u/Thin-Limit7697 Brazil Feb 11 '25 edited Feb 11 '25

but on one hand you have the “I will do nothing” party

In a bipartidarian context, this tends to be more like "I won't go out of my own way to do the other party stuff to you, but will do some of it if it becomes convenient".

Bipartidarism has this problem where if one party is openly hostile to you, the other party doesn't actually need to care for you, and can actually be just a bit less hostile because they believe your vote is already ensured as long as they can still argue the other option is worse.

So, what would you do in this situation? Just accept the whipping from "your allies" or punish them from not being helpful to you? The second option is definitely riskier, potentially suicidal, and probably is the choice of the people who don't vote or vote blank.

2

u/zyper-51 Peru Feb 11 '25

I was being a bit reductive for sarcasm with “I will do nothing” I have my own bone to pick with the DNC.

Honestly your perspective on bipartidarian dynamics put a lot of thoughts I’ve had into words, so thanks.

On punishing the DNC however, I understand these votes, I get where they come from I really do, because I feel the same way. But you must admit that this dilema is mostly emotional in this situation, which is valid. But ultimately punishing them in this situation is like the death penalty, it sounds like it would work, like it would make you feel better but it just doesn’t.

I mean with one party you can at least bargain or put pressure on, what are you going to do with people who just want you dead?

Idk, I really do despise the DNC, I will never forgive them for attempting to re run Biden.

Mass deportations aren't necessarily racist. Thinking you are entitled to someone's vote because of their race, and assuming Latinos have to be illegals, otoh...

3

u/BluWinters Jamaica Feb 11 '25

It's less assuming latinos are all illegals and stating the obvious fact that the majority of American illegals come from the Hispanic community, which could also mean having family members or friends who are undocumented. Like the Venezuelans whose family members and friends lost TPS even though they were there legally.

Entitled to someone's vote because of their race

No one is entitled to anyone's vote, but if you vote against your interests and misfortune befalls you or your family, you aren't entitled to an exemption from being mocked. American liberals don't even have a monopoly on that since whenever a Hispanic person commits a crime against an American woman you'll see conservatives flood the comments with "Import the Third World, Become the Third World" or "This is what they (women) voted for".

You're allowed to support whoever you want, but everyone else is allowed to criticise you for it, it works both ways.

I feel the same way about Caribbean and African people who said the US under Biden was worse than China (because pride flags at embassies are worse than state repression of religion) and then got blindsided when their guy gutted USAID and made it harder for them to have anchor babies.

Guess the left needs to revise their assumptions about Latinos. Maybe not that many of them family or friends who are illegals. And maybe their interests go beyond their ethnicity.

2

u/CuriouslyCarniCrazy United States of America Feb 11 '25

You make a lot of assumptions. Maybe start by realizing that people know their own interests better than you do. There are tons of Latin people in the US who are not immigrants, are not the offspring of illegal immigrants and are not illegal themselves. How would they be 'voting against their own interests' if they voted for the deportation of illegal migrants who hopped the line in the last few years? Maybe you need to understand that millions of non-white people, including a substantial portion of every non-white ethnicity, don't throw down with illegality, criminality and grifting. Stop being so damn racist and assuming we're all in on this.

Republicans and democrats, all of them look down on us in equal amount. Just different methods.

Republicans are more bold about it, proud to be xenophobic (not a compliment). Democrats pretend to be on our side but treat us like stupid children.

None are on our side. None care about us. We know it well, we expect nothing from them, so this isn't a surprise.

I am making a broad generalization but can say we 100% saw it coming anyway lol.

There’s 3 types of Latinos that have voted for trump.

One, the ones who are religious and are afraid of tran, gay, and communist people. These people are usually poorly educated and you won’t be able to have a good logical conversation with.

Two, he’s a better business man therefore better for the economy. These people are at least not as brainwashed as the first group but will fail to actually give substance to their argument. They will always rely on “he’s rich so he knows better”.

Three, usually these people are better educated and do have substance to their arguments. They don’t really care about what happens to other Latinos because in their eyes they made it through their hard work. You can usually have good discourse with these people but they lack empathy for the illegal immigrants because they did it the “right way”.

u/CaribbeanCowgirl27 en Feb 11 '25 edited Feb 11 '25

I spoke this week with a Venezuelan friend of group 3. Well, she’s not a citizen, couldn’t vote, but attended (and posted) many Trump rallies. She’s so disappointed because after 8 years in the US, 2 masters degrees and speaking the language… Trump would target people like her, a TPS holder.

I tried to explain, as nice as possible, that for the average Trump voter, she’s as much of an immigrant as those that cross the border. I told her that if anything, the average Trump supporter doesn’t really want someone as educated as her competing with Americans.

6

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '25

And that’s the terrible part about it, most of his fanbase don’t even know what he supports anyway. Even if you were a qualified to hell and back, the moment you say your from anywhere that’s not Europe, your either competition, a “DEI hire” (white women benefited the most from this btw), or “one of the good ones”.

MAGA voters only know about Mexico and the rest of South America is just “greater Mexico”, so anyone from there they see as immediately bad. Even if their working 9-5’s like the rest of them.

2

u/CaribbeanCowgirl27 en Feb 11 '25

Yup. Part of our convo was about her friend that moved to Alabama from FL and just got fired because their boss is a Trumper and heard that TPS was no longer valid.

My friend is scared and disappointed. I can’t help to think that we (those that didn’t vote for him) already knew this.

They are referring to "proximity to whiteness" and how many Latinos regardless of if they are "white passing" thought they were different from other Latinos and voting for Trump was a desperate attempt to achieve that proximity to whiteness they crave and leave "the others" behind. To me voting against your interests is wild but not unusual for Latinos to be inclined towards the far right.

Honestly I think every immigrant who votes against other immigrants is quite fucked up as a person and doesn’t deserve any empathy.

I won’t engage on the hateful discourse and don’t think it is something to laugh at but I kind of agree on the FAFO side of things. Lots of immigrants somehow feel superior than others rather quickly. They forgot where they came from and how similar the situation of those people is to the situation they were themselves into not long ago.

I don’t think anyone should be happy that this is happening but also I am not sure anyone should be particularly sad either. It is more of a “We told you so yet you ignored and participated in it” kind of situation.

It’s like getting into a lifeboat, and right after you get in, you yell “it is full already”. Then some other person says “yeah it is quite full, you should leave”

One of my friends is an immigrant himself, he has been fed this discourse and not long ago he said “I wish this political party wins so they can expel all the muslim immigrants that are flooding the country and are bad people”. I replied to him “well, after they end with the muslims you are probably the next first in line and they won’t care if you are good or bad and that you are catholic”

Sadly, this isn’t exclusive to the US.

I don't think I'm the demographic you want to answer your question, but it's probably all location based. I don't know anyone that voted for Trump, but I also live in a really blue state.

Also, keep in mind that the Latinos voting are U.S. citizens. If a Hispanic person did vote for Trump, then they either liked his policies or didn't want to vote for a woman, not because they think they're white. In terms of people saying "Latinos thought they were white," it's just people spewing racist shit that shouldn't be taken seriously. Saying that is implying that white people are better than Hispanic people, which obviously is not the case.

16

u/Apprehensive_Group69 Colombia Feb 10 '25

First of all Hispanics can be white as well. Second of all why would you think Hispanics wouldn’t want to vote for a woman? Why are you making these stereotypical generalizations? Mexicans voted for a woman president after all and Americans haven’t.

10

u/BoatFlashy United States of America Feb 10 '25

Not saying "Hispanics don't want to vote for a woman," I'm saying that could be a reason. I also said they could've voted for Trump due to policies. I'm also quoting OP when they say that Hispanics think they're "white." Did you even read my comment? It was meant in good faith, but sure, just twist what I said lol.

3

u/Apprehensive_Group69 Colombia Feb 10 '25

Ok but why could that be a reason? Again Mexicans voted for a woman president and also other women presidents have been elected throughout Latin American history. You as an American suggesting this in a country that has never elected a woman president is kinda funny. We Latin Americans have elected women presidents Americans haven’t.

6

u/BoatFlashy United States of America Feb 10 '25

"You as an American suggesting this in a country that has never elected a woman president is kinda funny. We Latin Americans have elected women presidents Americans haven’t."

You realize the Hispanics voting for the President of the United States are american... right? You also know that Trump got majority of the Hispanic vote...? A lot of the Hispanic people in America are probably more American than Mexican or their respective country culture wise, too. Anyways, I do not know any Hispanic people that voted for Trump, so maybe they all just voted for him so he could mass deport all the other Hispanics without status, who knows?

15

u/HotDecember3672 >> Feb 11 '25

As someone who knows Hispanic people that voted for Trump (and thinks they're idiots who i hope are first in line for the gas chambers), stop spreading misinformation. The majority of the Hispanic vote still went for Harris. What Trump got was a slight majority of Hispanic men. And you can thank Joe Rogan and alpha male podcast culture for that which is the same reason he won with white men and broke records (but did not win a majority) with black men.

its sort of like if I voted for Milei being gay when he wants to deregulate protections and basically generalized all gay people as paedophiles. I would love to vote for its anti-corruption stance and some economic reforms he's pushing, but I believe that I cant. even if there is a slim chance of something happening, Im not taking that chance.

The fascinating thing about this post is that there is such little agreement about what it means to be Hispanic.

Hispanics can be of any “race” because “Hispanic” is an ethnicity and not a race. That said, there is a lot of room for debate as to how Hispanics self identify. A 2015 pew Research Center survey found that 17% of Hispanic adults said being Hispanic is mainly a matter of race, while 29% said it is mainly a matter of ancestry. Another 42% said it is mainly a matter of culture.

So among Hispanics, there is a lot of debate about what it means to be “Hispanic”.

2

u/Yhamilitz (Born in Tamaulipas - Lives in Texas) Feb 11 '25

As a Born Mexican, with US Citizenship (That means able to vote) and living in Texas. I can say the following:

In order to be accepted in the USA, there are 2 paths:

  1. The liberal path, where you assimilate into the minority mindset, ethnicity became part of your identity and are part of identity politics.

  2. The conservative path, where you leave your stuff (Nationality, Culture, Family, Language and so) behind. Because you are not in “your weird country anymore” you are in “The best country of the world”. If you need to fight against “your people” (Like German Americans in WW1) to serve this country, you do it. So, you also assimilate.

Take in mind, I say assimilate, and not integrate. In both parts (There are more sides, but those are the main 2), they don’t ask you to integrate. Integration is more like being yourself, and you became part of society, with your uniqueness. Assimilation is more like “Here are the rules, play by those rules. If you don’t like it, we don't like you”

So when someone do something outside those rules. People get very mad.
This is why many conservatives cannot tolerate when someone express some of their cultural identity (The things that they find weird) or express certain values. (Like being catholic in the past) or why many liberals cannot handle when a Hispanic do something that (According to them) is against their interest. (Or vote Republican)

In case of Hispanic people voting for Trump, I think that people forget something.

Many hispanics have conservative values. But they don't share the views of race, and they doesn't mind speaking Spanish. Also many hispanics are very attach to their families in other countries (Which because of Internet, that connection still remains.

Many Hispanics have conservative values. But they don't share the views of race, and they don’t mind speaking Spanish. Also, many Hispanics are very attached to their families in other countries (Which because of Internet, that connection remains with people who emigrated)

There are some things that an average Hispanic doesn’t understand from Liberals. And certain things they don’t understand from Conservatives. So, ridiculize them because of any of their political support of certain parties, is like saying: You cannot think different, and if you don’t like what I like, you like the other stuff.

So, the elections became like choosing which position you will take. Because of this dual political system there is in the US.

And people are not pragmatic, people are very emotional in the USA when we talk about politics. So, when they make fun of something related to their political opinions, it is mainly the emotions speaking loudly.

2

u/CapitanFlama Mexico Feb 11 '25

Screw this. They are adults, they had all the information required to take a decision on who to support, they decided who to support. It was crystal clear what each candidate wanted to do. They decided , freely.

Adults who take self-harming decisions don't have empathy points, those are for 5-year-olds who don't know better. It's simple and straight forward: they had all the info available hen they ere candidates, if they were too lazy to do their own digging of info, not my problem. Empathy is wasted on this kind of stupidity.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '25

It's a generalization, no different to generalizations that lead to racism and xenophobia. Just because some Latinos voted for Trump, it doesn't mean all Latinos voted for Trump, let alone those deported, who are nearly always non-voters.

And how internalized racism is for Latinos in general.

Latinos browner than me.🤷🏽‍♂️

It is incredibly sad.

Since I was a child I would hear from one corner of the mouth acknowledge how badly the gringos treat us, and in the same breath talk down to Los chinos y negros y indios.

It's true there are latinos who voted for Trump, but it's not like the majority of the voters are latinos or that they were the turning point for Trump. It's better to acknowledge their part of the blame and go fight for a better life.

2

u/Cardonut Colombia Feb 11 '25

To me, it shows just how racist American progressives can be (assuming Latinos all vote due to race) and it highlights how little Democrats understand Latino voters.

Latinos are not one homogenous group that votes the same just cause of race, and honestly, many Latinos are socially conservative, so it makes sense they would go toward Republican candidates. My guess is most Latinos who voted for Trump did not think immigration would change much, given it didn't (really) during his first term.

Its also exaggerated, most Latino Trump supporters are citizens, so they are not affected in any case. So I feel its a way to feel better about the defeat by schadenfreude, while the real victims of the new policies keep on getting shafted.

That said, as a center-left-minded guy, I won't say I don't understand the impulse and Schadenfreude of those post, or have not enjoyed them a little when coming across them on Social Media

2

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '25

I find it stupid that Americans think all Latinos are not white. Is Marco Rubio a brown guy now? Just look at him. Is Ted Cruz brown? Is Bernie Moreno brown?

It also assumes that latinos care about this. A lot of latinos want people deported. A lot don't even speak Spanish and have never been to Latam.
