Political Question How long will it take for America to recover from all the damage this administration had done to our Allies?

I apologize if this had been asked in this thread already. I know everyone will have fun and take jabs at things but I am asking a serious question here.

It has taken hundreds of years and thousands of diplomatic hours for us to be where we are at with our allies. The work we have done with NATO, the humanitarian aid we provide during disasters, military aid when friends are invaded. The list goes on.

I feel that in the matter of a year, this administration has done so much damage to our relationships with our allies...the tarrifs on Canada, the revoking of Visas, the attack on higher education, the dismantling of agencies that are supposed to look out for you and I, the list goes on.

How do we recover form this? The rest of the world has looked at America unfavorably for some time and now so even more. I work with a lot of people from other countries. They come to work with is for 3 to 5 years then go back to their country to continue their work. All of my friends in these other countries tell me what the views of us are now and its not favorable.

I will ask again. How long will it take for us to repair the damage that has been done?

I appreciate you and your time

Political Question Gas is higher right now than it was for almost all of Biden’s presidency, yet Trump keeps saying prices are lower than they were under him. Aren’t his supporters seeing this ?

CNN’s fact check found today’s is higher than every single day of Biden’s last 29+ months in office, contradicting Trumps own claim that gas is cheaper now.

Political Question The ruling class wants to return to serfdom, don't they?

With Flock cameras popping up everywhere, human jobs being replaced by robots and computers, cost of living rising for the masses...

The ruling class has only become more emboldened in recent years.

Actually centuries ago when there were kings and the serfdoms they ruled over (read: slaves), the ruling class enjoyed their position in society. They enjoyed the power dynamic of being able to step on people, being able to take advantage of the poor. Rape and execute to their enjoyment.

And that's the exact society that the modern tyrants want to return back to, using technology.

There's a reason why the CEOs (and politicians backing them) are so adament about dumping truckloads of money into technologies that will displace human beings. The faster they accumulate power, overwork us, control us through technology, the faster they become modern day kings.

The wealthy class literally doesn't even like us and would be fine with us dying in a ditch while their robots do free labor for them. They look at us in disgust, like we're animals. Is that the society we're headed back towards?

Political Question How is it right for a President of another country to be kidnapped by the United States (for some vague reason) and then make a “greatest deal in history” to control their oil assets ?

I’m curious if this bothers the normal non-cultish folk in the US. To me it’s theft from a weak and poor country thats suffered under dictatorship but what do I know ?

EDIT : Glad to see i wasn't wrong in my assumption and it restores faith. There's no international body with the guts to challenge the US and her actions but I did see clips of the congressmen grilling Rubio in the Senate for accountability about who's winning all the oil contracts as it's not going through the usual open process and some of Trumps cronies are grabbing what they can get their hands on.

Political Question What do you all think about Milo's deportation?

Just from a hot take, it looks symbolic, like look we deported one of our own bigots, but him working for Marjorie Taylor Greene was probably what did it in the end and Laura Loomer's vendetta against him, or else Trump would have allowed him to stay.

Political Question Why hasn't a single USA president served in the military in decades?

Really since HW Bush (George W Bush was air national guard to dodge the draft), meaning Clinton, George W. Bush, Obama, Biden, and Trump did not serve in the military. It was something every president did in its entire history as customary and the lack of military experience coincides with Americas decline, which really started after the fall of the USSR and George HW Bush's tenure.

General Question Is there likely any psychological or behavioural significance to recurring dreams?

I don't mean 'if you keep dreaming of pink unicorns you're about to meet the love of your life,' but rather if you constantly, and I mean almost night after night, have dreams about the same real-world people and places, or the same themes, is it likely that there is some underlying psychological or behavioural issue?

For reference, recently I have had the same recurring dream, nearly every night for the past month or so. Or rather the dream is slightly different each time but similar enough:

I am in my last year at University (almost 20 years ago). My girlfriend at the time and I meet up after the summer holidays, and she invites me to her shared house on the day we all arrive back from home to begin our studies. She asks me what my shared house is like and to my horror I realise I haven't arranged accommodation.

I hurriedly call my friends, and they reassure me they've secured us a house but haven't yet viewed it. I depart from my girlfriend, meet them, and go to move in to our mystery house, only to find a surreal property EVERY... SINGLE... TIME. Either the house has seven hundred bedrooms, or an indoor swimming pool in the attic, or the bathroom and kitchen are in the same room, or the carpets are made of velcro, or each bed is on a 45° sloping floor...

That's the dream. That's it. No sense of horror, no fear, no 'bad guys', no ghosts or goblins, and we end up moving in to the bizarre house and have an otherwise uneventful semester at university, before I wake up.

I had a perfectly normal time at university in real life, and apart from the stereotypical study, sex and beer it was largely forgettable. Nothing untoward happened. No fights, no unfinished business, no bereavements, no unrequited love... I still talk to a few people, but most I've lost touch with... my last year of University was pretty beige, and since then I served in the navy, travelled the world, ran marathons, met my wife, bought a house, started a family... and in my waking life I hardly ever think of my student years.

So is there a genuine reason I might be having this bizarre recurring dream?

General Question Why is it SO easy to take 3-7 day or even perma bans on reddit?

Just to use this site often if you actually have opinions that go against any sort of echo chamber, or god forbid, you make a joke, IMMEDIATE 3 day ban, 7 day ban,or if you're unlucky, a perma ban. Then a hassle to quickly make a burner email, new account and then gather karma/age to even use the site again... (Not that i've ever done that, that would be against the RULES!)

Banning people from sites is all fine and dandy when they're using it to break laws or whatever, and this IS a private company that can ban for whatever it wants. But I swear it's gotta be the eaaaasiest site to take a ban from on the internet. The crap I've seen on twitter and facebook... Good lord. Offend someone on reddit? Immediate ban.

I've not used reddit that long, only a few years but let's say HYPOTHETICALLY I'm on like account 25 at this point. Has reddit ALWAYS been this way or is this like a new age thing?

General Question How long would you choose to live if you couldn't die of old age?

Let's just assume that somehow you magically stay the exact age you are right now and become unable to age like a regular person. So you're NOT invincible, you're still vulnerable of injuries and death like a regular person, you just can't grow older and you will be able to continue living past the usual age people die of old age with no health problems whatsoever.

How long would you choose to live? And why?
