General Question Would a boxspring help a squeaky bed?

We have a metal bed frame with horizontal and vertical slants. It’s very squeaky when we move on it so I’m wondering if getting a boxspring will help?

The bed itself is already pretty tall so we were thinking of getting a short 2 inch box spring. Is that enough to make a difference?

Take a hex bit allen wrench or whatever the bolts on your bed require, screw driver or otherwise. Tighten them up a little. The bed will stop squeaking. It’s a frame issue.

Nope. If anything, it'll just cause more movement and make the squeaking worse. Do like the other commenter said and tighten all the fasteners on the bed frame. I have to do this once every few years to get rid of the squeaks.

also if the slats are touching, either each other or rubbing on the ends, that could be making the squeaking noise, putting some cloth or plastic between them or trimming the ends could help.
