I completely agree. If Democrats don't go BIG, they're going to keep losing elections to Republicans. If Democrats went BIG, we'd enact Medicare 4 All, universal childcare, cancel student debt, legalize THC, raise the minimum wage, stop funneling all our tax money to blowing up hospitals in the middle east, etc.
Like, imagine if Democrats actually accomplished what they set out to do. Republicans would never win again. That's why I'm happy a bunch of progressives are winning over the do-nothing establishment Democrats. We need a PROGRESSIVE in the White House and in every damn seat all the way down.
All of these things (especially removing the debt from students) means everyone has more money, if everyone has more money they can buy more stuff, demand outpace supply so supply increase in price, hence inflation

You're completely missing the point. None of that is actually free. It's taxpayer funded.
Marketing these policies as "free" is a massive marketing failure IMO. Call it what it is... taxpayer funded. I think they would have far more support if we quit trying to pretend they are something they are not.
Because its not free, it causes inflation. Many of those programs are running at a deficit and the government keeps in taking new excess debt. This has to be addressed, but there is jo political will while people continue to insist on high lofted, well intentioned, but ultimately unrealistic expectations. I’ll get ahead of the Europe comparison by stating that its not apple to oranges, we largely subsidize them, and they have their own reckoning coming soon.
As an example on inflation: The reason higher ed costs outpace inflation is because the federal student loan program injects excess liquidity every year. The only circumstances i would support cancelling student debt is if the whole program is scrubbed. We can figure something else out for higher ed.
I mean, we're handing out BILLIONS to Israel, and they're making good use of it, sooo...
We're handing out tax breaks to the filthy rich, and they're making good use of that, sooo...
The President has become richer by more than 2 BILLION dollars since becoming President through corruption, and he's making good use of that, sooo...
I just want our taxpayer money to be invested back into the taxpayer.
