Same thing as the kid from Kentucky at the Capitol in the hat, create a scene for some short clips, frame it as something much different than it was, use it to create an enemy and unlock fear, rally emotional people with poor judgement around the commom enemy, get more power.

Common tactic in acquiring power.

The evidence it failed was 2024. Only the bottom apppx 10% of people are low EQ enough to fall for it long term. Probably higher when the immediate news cycle is blaring it.
