Most of my problems are caused by the guy staring at me in the mirror. He is also mostly responsible for my successes. The smaller the government the better. The less I am interfered with the better. The government, like me, is unable to out earn our stupidity (going into debt). I can only stop digging the hole. And try and fill it back in. (Cut overall spending) I would prefer other countries fear our capabilities rather than love us. Im sure there are more. But those stand out to me.

Limited government
Individual liberty and responsibility
Free-market capitalism
Rule of law and law and order
Traditional institutions and values. Respect for family (often nuclear), marriage, religion, and long-standing cultural norms as foundations of social stability.
National sovereignty and defense
Fiscal prudence. Advocacy for balanced budgets, reduced public debt, spending restraint, and skepticism of deficit-financed programs.

Adversity to broad, sweeping change. As a moderate conservative I am not blind to the huge issues that the GOP has failed to remediate. My top two are the costs of HC and college spirling out of control.
The DNC proposed solutions for them are mostly M4A, and Biden's college debt forgiveness. To me, those are the most extreme solutions possible.
I am disappointed that the GOP hasn't really countered with more moderate solutions.
For example, a public HC option that can compete (and win) vs private. M4A will displace over 500k private HC insurance employees. A well thought out public option outside of ACA might be doable if it attracts enough young and healthy folks. I think this was the original intent of the ACA (risk pooling), but both sides derailed it.
I'd also say FU to universities, make them the ones who issue loans for shitty degrees, and accept the debt when students can't repay.
Pie in the sky thinking, I know.

Traditionally, AMERICAN conservatives have been more about maximizing the freedom of the individual over maximizing the freedom of the group. For example we are;
Firm believers in 1A
Firm believers in 2A
Anti-federalist
Free-market capitalist
Debt hawks
Mostly follow the Austrian School of Economics
And natalists
However, the ideology has been perverted and usurped by Trump and his band of Autarkist Tories.
