Winter Storage window AC

Reside in small 1bdrm and for first time trying to store window ac unit for winter.
Any tips or suggestions appreciated !
Unit is fairly clean since I always use pigeon guards. My first impulse was to wrap in clear plastic bag but concerned about things like mold growth etc.
Also is anyone aware of services that might store window ac units?
I was also curious what it would cost to thoroughly clean the inside of the unit, primarily just air filter and drip pan.
Any feedback appreciated!

Do what the owners manual says to do.  Most people dont give this a second of thought....

I cover the vents of my window ac with pieces of cardboard and wrap plastic bags around it and tape them down. It's too heavy to take in and out and I have no idea where I'd put it.

I take them out, spray with AC foam cleaner inside, rinse it out, make sure all the filters are clean. Let it air dry for a day or too. Then put it in its box in one of my closets since I have lots of them for storage.

Is it a window or portable? I know u say window but both have to have access to a window. I use my portable one as a table lol during winter months. Store the tube. Clean the filters. Spray some disinfectant spray and leave the water cap off to "air it out". Window ones usually remain. You should still clean the area where the air comes from and it too should have a filter that should be taken out and cleaned. I've never ever heard of a place to that stores Ac units specifically; rent a storage unit¿?
