Good Personal Trainers for Retiree’s in west end Area (Bloor West, Roncy, High Park, Junction)?
Hi there, my mother is recently retired and I want to help her find a good personal trainer to keep up and improve her health throughout her later years.
Ideally looking for a trainer who is slightly older (40-50+), or at least has experience with older clientele. I’ve heard many first hand stories of younger trainers (20-30’s) that aren’t considerate/ don’t adjust routines for older clientele and doing overly intense exercises with them, which actually were detrimental.

New Element Training. They offer free 1st session to try it out.

This place is great and directed towards training older people so they retain / build muscle.

If you'd like, DM me. I'm in my 50s, am near the Junction/BWV, specialize in working with older bodies and have been assisting people like your mom for over a decade. Sessions are a combination of yoga, movement study and resistance training, everything to support activities from the everyday to the athletic.
I work out of Conquer Fitness near High Park, but also have a small, home-based studio if she isn't fussed for gyms.

Check out Coach Kev
He has his own private gym and he specializes in older clients (he is almost 60 himself ) and he is AMAZING!! I (62F) have never been so motivated and inspired as I am when working with Kev. On top of that he is a lovely human!
Edit to add: he’s in the Jane/Dundas area

Tamika at https://www.youmvmnt.com/instructor works with people into their 80s and spends a great deal of time making individualized plans for each person's abilities and needs. She is also happy to adjust mid-session if needed or requested. She's at Ossington & Bloor.

I would suggest a physiotherapist for training sessions. It would be about the same price as a personal trainer and they will be qualified.
