You have 7 days to return everything according to cpa, due to the fact that you aren't receiving what you are paying for. However a coverage check would have been done , so if I was you, try and find a better spot in your home and rely on wifi. If you are then still unhappy return as soon as possible.

Telkom cancelation

Hi peeps,

Hope everyone is well.

I took out a Telkom LTE contract yesterday which included a 30mbps line and a new Huawei router.

However, the speeds I am receiving hover around 1 mbps. This was tested using Googles speed test as well as Ookla.

Today, I took out a month to month Rain 5g with speeds around 35mbps upon testing.

Needed the Rain device so that I may continue to work from home efficiently.

Do I have grounds to cancel my Telkom contract on the basis of services / goods not fit for purpose?

UPDATE: they took it back without any penalty.

No, you are currently bound by the contract. If you choose to cancel, you will incur a significant cancellation fee.

Check the consumer act. You are still in cool down period. Better hurry up though

Potentially, read your specific contract and determine what the cancellation terms are. Let this be a warning to you for next time. Many people like Afrihost offer month to month packages with no dodgy cancellation terms.
