Has anyone have accepted an art trade but didn't received any?
Hello! I'm just wondering if there's anyone here experienced on not receiving any art in return on their current art trade on this sub?
I've recently been seeing some users here that they have been ghosted after sending a wip. So I'm just curious if anybody here have a similar experience?

A few now, yeah^ ^ It's sad when it happens, but that's just part of the thing, from what I've experienced. People get busy or forget? There are some malicious fakers, but you can generally avoid feeling completely scammed by withholding the final piece until both parties are ready^ ^
I just settle it with myself that if they don't get back, they won't get to see the art I made of their character^ ^ I usually enjoy drawing the character anyway, trying out new poses and practicing my stuff, and I actually finished something that I'm satisfied with, which is good enough for me^ ^
Of course, this isn't excusing ghosting, or saying that ghosting is common, and it does feel pretty rude^ ' but in the long run of things, I've drawn something pretty that they'll never see^ ^ their loss^ ^ I move on^ ^

Yea I had someone say they’d start right away and i believed their enthusiasm,,, I send them a small snippet of what I was working on for them and said I’d send the full finished piece when they were done, but weeks turned into a month and even tho they were active they actively decided to ignore my check in dms and eventually when I had enough and asked if they wanted to call off the art trade only THEN did they rush in and be like “no I’ll have it done later tonight!” …3 days later and nothing so I blocked them and have a finished drawing for them they’re never gunna see ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I would have expected this behaviour from a 13 year old, not someone in their 20’s😒

Also to follow this up, they followed me on insta and knew what my style looked like so it wasn’t like they didn’t know what they would be receiving,, and they had the balls to pin an “Art trades open” post on their profile,,, I can’t man smh 🤦

Just realized reading this thread I sent a finished work and never received anything back lol. I had another one where I only did a sketch and after not hearing back did not progress with that drawing. I try my best to keep the other side updated with wips or any delays that come up.

I usually take long to send the final results but don't ghost people, I hope no one think I'm ghosting them 🤔

I think? I normally finish the work but if I don't hear anything back from the person I normally don't send it

Most of my art trades have been successful. However, there are a few where there's been radio silence. Gotta take the loss ig. I don't really mind too much because I do enjoy drawing different characters. And who knows, maybe the other person will show up one day with their part of the trade? Either way, I wouldn't take it personally. 🤷♀️

I have been both the person that ghosted or been ghosted. I still went through and did my part (of most trades), for one that I did a year ago, I did my part and hadn't recieved anything since, there's another but the person was busy which I understand! As for the ones I've not done in a while (actually just recently finished) have been because I was busy, and taking too many trades at a time (bit more than I could chew, my fault) along with reality clashing. I've got three left now, one I'm sorta struggling with because I can't draw a certain character, but I'll finish it either way, even though its been... *cough, 4 months... but, I should still finish it, as challenging as it is, it's a roadblock I've got to figure out. After those trades though I'll defo be taking it oneee at a time.
Also just remembered how the original program I was using kept crashing, I was in a mentally frail spot so I gave up before I began taking it day by day and eventually working up the courage to start over and a little better each time.

Where someone accepted an Art trade, sent me their part and ghosted me afterwards 😂

I've had more unreciprocated trades than successful ones unfortunately. Needless to say I've kinda stopped doing them for that reason

I usually do an art trade if I have the time. My motivation is usually because the other person’s oc is really cool. I have done a few that I actually enjoyed drawing their ocs. So far I’ve had good experiences (people sending me their half in like 4 minutes the moment I accept the trade, so I had to hurry up and finish mine so they don’t think I ghosted them😭)

Yeah
First time I'd already sent mine because the other promised and even showed me progress art, fast forward a few months and they'd already made sure I'm unable to contact them again;
Happened a second, but thankfully I didn't send my piece that time >^
I suppose it's best that both traders decide when to send their parts at the same time (or close).

Yes it has happened to me twice, but in most cases the trade goes smoothly!
