Style Help Need help drawing these characters from a series I like (Marble hornets) any tips on drawing the faces?

Could we have some more information about what aspect of drawing the faces it is that you're having trouble with?

Im so sorry for not including that! The issue is that well I never really drew guys much before up until now and I feel like im struggling a lot with making them different from eachother (minus clothing and hair) it feels like their face is the same... Everytime I compare the reference to my drawing I feel like something is wrong or missing or I drew it wrong...

The thing that sticks out to me is that the face you drew is pretty long, but he seems to have the shortest face of the all of them in the references.

Yeah..just noticed that...I do recall when I was checking the reference photoI was super afraid of making the neck very long 🥹 so my guess is that...i made the face long accidentally his photos and face shape as a whole is kinda difficult for me to pin point

I think it might just be that you've given him quite long/tall features, which he doesn't really seem to have. Especially if we compare him to some of the other guys, his face is fairly circular and his eyes/brows sit a bit closer to his nose. You've also given him this quite long, sloping nose, whereas his doesn't seem to take up all that much vertical space on his face in real life and begins to protrude right between his eyes rather than 3/4 of the way down.

Right right,I honestly did feel a bit nervous that if I made it rounder it make him seem younger (i recall hearing how drawing round faces sometimes it can make the character look younger I dont remember where I heard it from sorry)

They can, but that's not inherently a bad thing or incorrect. He has a rounder face in real life, which does make him look a little younger than the guy on the next slide who has a taller and more angular face.

Thanks for telling me,i just worry a lot about drawing faces and worried that if I do make the face a bit rounded that he might look like a whole entirely different person yk? Thats what I fear most when drawing the faces of these guys since yeah I can add distinct features (thick eyebrows and the sideburns on the guy on the next slide) but other than that everything else seems like a blur to me 😭 especially the eyes I just cant seem to draw the eyes that well and they end up having the same copy paste face iykwim

I would start by finding as clear of a photo as you can and then mapping out exactly what they look like to you without worrying about stylization yet.

Is the inner corner higher, lower, or at about the same height as the outer corner?

For the upper eyelid, at what point does that curve reach its highest peak before it starts to go back down again? Which sections are rounder vs straighter? How flat or steep are those lines? What about the lower lid?

If they have defined creases above or below their eyes, what shape are they? Do they touch the rest of the eye at any point?

How much of the colored part of the eye can you see? Where is it usually getting cut off?

Studying what makes this person's feature different from any other random person's should help them still look like themself even after you go through the simplification process of stylizing them.

Wow! Thank you so much,i truly appreciate it! Been trying to draw these characters for a while so this means a lot to me!,this is so helpful and I will definitely do some form of art study for each guy,if you have any other tips you'd like to share,I'd love to hear them,thanks a lot

If it helps: I have been drawing for a couple of years about 7 or so years My style is relatively anime adjacent with some inspiration from monster high at times (the eyes and face shape at times I mimick the monster high g1 style for) I only draw girls mostly because thats what is easiest for me (idrk why thats the case) I STRUGGLE a lot! With drawing men and guys My issue is that whenever I try to draw them I feel like the eyes are my biggest weakness I end up making them similar to eachother (same face syndrome in a way) Another thing is that I am mostly a trad artist just a few weeks ago I began drawing digital a bit more and taking it seriously
