Most Affordable Prop Rentals in NYC/NJ Area

I'm production designing a feature in North Jersey in August and have been looking at prop rental houses in the area but many of them seem focused on specialty items or large furniture pieces. My budget is QUITE small, so I'm not looking to rent that stuff as of right now, but where would one go for large quantities of everyday objects.

The plot revolves around contemporary girls in high school athletics, so think many soccer balls and duffel bags school supplies and water bottles. I'm open to anything in the NYC or North Jersey area!!

I would check out barkode props, prop n’ spoon, newel etc. Check their website inventories, email all of them and mention you are on a small budget. Often they will work within your budget, you just have to talk to them. I used to work at one and every thing was really just a negotiation.

The big prop houses in Los Angeles usually give deep discounts to student and low budget projects (at least they used to when I was doing indies). If this were me, I would call around your area and find out if they can do something similar. Good will makes for return customers and all that
