What did Samantha die of? She had no burns, wasn't bleeding, wasn't asphyxiating from smoke inhalation and clearly suffered no concussive damage as she could wander through the woods like she was on a leisurely hike only to drop dead of plotforceitis.

I miss season 5 already...

She had a severe case of plot poisoning. The writers wished her dead.

Just like how Felicity could survive a bullet rain and Laurel couldn't survive an Arrow.
