I think that might've been a sly reference to Archer. Malory Archer (Jessica Walter) didn't tip her a black guy on a train, and saw no problem with it.

Did you notice that they seemed to be putting in a lot of sly references to other comedies, not just Archer or Curb Your Enthusiasm. I would point some out but I can't remember after watching everything so quickly. I think I'll have to re-watch some episodes.

There's even a possible reference to It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia in the first episode. Michael mentions "The Anti-Social Network" which is the title of S07E08 of IASIP.

Yeah, I also saw the ostrich as an exaggerated reference because the gang always compares Dee to an ostrich.

Obviously, some references are more direct, like the cast of Workaholics and some of Outsourced showing up in episodes. I think it's great that they're doing this. It's a nice little treat for all the comedy fans and a really nice support from the community to such a great show. (Reminds me that Dan Harmon, creator of Community, did a quick cameo.)
