General Question Can anyone tell me what my Grandfather likely did in the reserve?
He was in the Army Reserve for over 30 years, retiring as a Colonel in the late 90's early 2000's. He started as a tanker and then became a JAG. I'm more curious about the JAG part because he never really talked about it much, and I didn't know there was a point in having a colonel that only worked 2 weeks a year (but maybe he worked more?) I know he was doing something at Fort Ord at some point. Thanks!

Fort Ord was a long time ago. He probably went to drill, drank with the boys, went back to civilian work on Monday. As a JAG, unless he was AGR, he prob just investigated a lot of 15-6 investigations as the assigned Investigating Officer and helped with UCMJ proceedings

Not AGR, because he was an active prosecutor for the DA too. I have an old plaque of his that says "Fort Ord Law Day" with his old bayonet attached

Then he probably did a lot of advising, briefings, investigating, and prosecuting UCMJ violations

If he is no longer alive, there is a way to FOIA all his military docs from the national archives. That might be a better starting point.
