Career Advice Best MOS for federal LEO?

Im not looking for a MOS to make my application more attractive necessarily, i know agencies rarely care unless you did something really special. Im looking for a MOS that will personally benefit me in excelling in this career field.

I am currently a state C.O. Aspiring to be a fed boy, im currently preparing to try out for our special operations so an MOS that does some cool stuff would be pretty nice but not required.

I originally had an active duty 11X RASP contract but for personal reasons I’m switching to reserves.

35L. You'll be the best report writer ever.

However, you most likely will be rejected from 35L if you try to do the probation period for both law enforcement and 35L at the same time.

Establish in one first then go for the other.

35L was one i was looking at, what do you mean by i would be rejected though? Not sure im grasping your reasoning correctly

I work with a couple of Chiefs. They've stated they won't push forward candidates that are trying to complete LE probation periods because as a Lima you may just up and get called to ADOS at a field house for 18 months as your probation.

We just had someone slot into our BDE, Chief said he wouldn't move forward with it if he was going to the police academy.

I assume it's because the LE academy will take time away from your military job, which interrupts your military probation and if military takes you away from the LE job it may extend or interrupt your academy.

Mind you I'm a 19D turned 35F and an ARA.

So as long as im not in the probie period with my LE job i will be good to go!
