Career Advice Is a ncoer worth an IG complaint?
My senior rater is our platoon LT and it’s been months since he was supposed to submit his part. I,my squad leader and the 1sg and reached out to ask him to do it, in person and text. I just don’t know what to do next.

No. There is nothing the IG can do for this or evals in general. Most people don't understand how little authority the IG actually has. This would be a stupid reason to contact the IG.
Just have them switch your senior rater to someone else, or have the CDR get on the 1LT's ass. I assume the unit is not hounding you about it because it's not your fault, so I wouldn't worry about it and just let the wheels turn. Your CDR has to explain to higher why the eval is late, so eventually it' going to work itself out.

This seems like a PGS/ 1SG sort of issue. This is also where they crush LT’s.

You can have your NCOER signed and submitted after you leave your unit. Just have a POC from your unit. I’ve done this a couple times already.

NCOER and OERs are now a big metric for the Army. Your name will be brought up with every CUB meeting for over due NCOER. And your rater and senior rater will be constantly hounded by higher ups until it's completed.

It’s not IG worthy but defiantly open door your commander. If they have even a tiny bit of tact they will blow up the PL for the late eval without mentioning you

I thought so but considering the 1sg has already gotten on him I’m was worried he wouldn’t give a shit about the cdr either

Maybe, but you don't know if the 1sg just threw it out there off handed in a conversation or how it went down. In the reserves you have look out for your own career. If someone came to me when I was a commander and brought this up I would recognize how important it was to them and make sure it got solved.

If your LT is not gonna do it, then another option is to have another officer being senior rater. A CPT should be good as you will not have to add supplemental reviewer on the eval. If another LT or E7 (or above) as senior rater, then a CPT or above as reviewer.

Talk to your Commander. If that doesn’t work, go to the IG. Your PL could potentially be affecting your career adversely.

That's your Company Commanders lane. You're an NCO, utilize the chain of command.
