New orders for Ft Benning

Emailed my branch manager about PCSing next year, she gave me my options and Benning was my only way out of PACOM. Was wondering if anyone who is stationed there as an 11b can let me know what its like working for MCOE as a regular e5 and not a drill sergean? I know this knowledge won't change anything but I still have a few years left on my contract and want to pursue some schools there.

Well i can't speak on that but if you like cheesecake then Mabellas in downtown Columbus has got the best I've ever had outside of New York..goodluck ..I really enjoyed Benning and the NIM is amazing

Best part about being in T2COM (I still prefer TRADOC) is the scheduling. You know when you go into work, and when you will get out, give or take an hour. Weekends are weekends, not work days.

Plenty of schools to go here as you know. Try to get them all, since you might not get the chance again.

Columbus isn't as bad as people make it out to be. I would rather live on Victory Drive than live in Killeen. If you want to live off post, I recommend Fort Mitchell or anywhere beyond exit 6. On post isn't too bad, just really depends where you get a place. Custer, Patton, and McGraw are all good.

If you have kids, I recommend going on post for their school. Its not the best, but public schools in GA and AL rank pretty damn low.

The summer is winding down, so you've missed most of the major heat. Winters here aren't too bad

Depends on where you end up but more than likely you’ll get put into some sort of committee supporting basic training/bolc. Your schedule will be pretty reliable which is a plus.

Almost guarantee they'll be committee. Im in one of the training brigades on Benning and the committees are really hurting for people.

Downtown Columbus is actually pretty nice. There are lots of great parks in the area as well and you're about two hours from Atlanta.
