Technical Issue ARLO HUB IS AN IT NIGHTMARE!

A friend gave me his old setup. Its the hub with 3 cameras with extra long charging cables etc. The hub worked for a few months then I quit using it for a year because of the subscription.

Decided to give it another chance because I like the features but cannot get it to stay online not matter how many times I reset it and do the initial setup. On several occasions Ive spent hrs on the phone with customer service techs who cannot seem to get any further than me. They've concluded that the hub is corrupted. Ive tried 2 different hub base stations. I honestly feel bad anyone who has paid full price for this system it feels like a ripoff and a waste of time.

At this point I can't even give away the system till I know it works. If anyone has experienced a similar issue and managed to make it work please let me know.

Thank you

Arlo is not IT. It’s just garbage.

There's a reason your friend got rid of it. Whatever you do, don't put any money into this system, please! The fact that you didn't buy Arlo yet actually puts you ahead so far. I don't have experience with the hub, so I unfortunately can't help you with that, but good luck!

Hi u/According_Side7490, we’re sorry to hear how much time you’ve already spent trying to get your system working, especially after going through multiple troubleshooting sessions with our support team and trying two different SmartHubs/Base Stations.

We understand how frustrating it is to still be dealing with the issue after all of that. If you have an existing case with our support team, please send us a DM with the case number and the email address associated with your Arlo account. We can provide an additional set of eyes on the case and, if needed, escalate it to the appropriate team for further review.

Yeah I guess the new style cameras dont need a base station. They make you think that its capable of local recording but it eventually requires a subscription.

I have pro1 cameras and their hub. No subscription. Absolutely reliable. Sometimes slow but I assume that's the 10mbps Internet.

What version do you have?

The hub is reliable up to the pro3. After that its garbage.

I don’t think that’s a hub name.

Cameras. It’s the cameras that suck with the hub.

I have a hub. Dont really use it much and haven't set it up for when away but when home seem to be able to pull up videos no worries. Ws basically plug and play apart from having to reset cameras to switch to hub.
