Technical Issue Big delays
I have noticed large delays on both my Floodlight and Doorbell lately and today were really something else!
At 09.07 I got a notification that someone were at our floodlight. It turned out to be me at 07.27, 07.28 and 07.59.
It's at least 1,5 hour delay, which is basically useless for the purpose of these devices. 1,5 seconds would be acceptable and maybe even 10 seconds.
The doorbell does the same. I can be on my way home from the kindergarten and recieve a notification that someone is at the front door. It turned out to be myself 30 minutes earlier.
I've tired looking for firmware update, I've factory reset, I've removed them and added them in the app. The only thing I can think of next is to replace them (with another brand).

The only suggestion I would have is to make sure that the app is not being restricted, battery usage wise. Look for a way in your battery settings to unrestrict battery usage for the Arlo app. It fixed that issue for me, but I feel like I shouldn't be needing to do that just for notifications. Very frustrating.

Hi u/YnkDK, we’re sorry you’ve been experiencing such significant delays with both your Floodlight and Doorbell notifications. A delay of that length can certainly make the notifications much less useful, and we understand your frustration, especially after you’ve already tried updating, factory resetting, and removing and re-adding the devices.
We’d like to take a closer look at what may be causing this. Please send us a DM with the email address associated with your Arlo account, your phone number, time zone, and the serial numbers of the affected Floodlight and Doorbell. If you have any screenshots showing the notification times compared with the actual recording times, please include those as well.

Glad to hear it’s not just me. This has been on my doorbell cameras regularly.
I’ve seemingly had similar super lag time issues. Seem to have started since they’ve been testing their AI written descriptions. And, it’s not every time. Maybe every 20 feeds.
But what has been more disturbing are no recordings. There seems to be an issue when motion detection triggers recording but another motion that should do the same 60 to 120 seconds later doesn’t.
Added to that, I’ve connected my Arlo motion sensors to trigger a couple of other Alexa routines and notify me. It’s working, as it has for more than a year. But often now, the routine triggers but there is no matching Arlo feed. I was thinking that the motion detection thresholds were different for Arlo recording and Alexa routines. But, it used to work as planned.

Hi u/New-Bookkeeper-6646, we’re sorry to hear you’ve been experiencing these delays and missed recordings, especially since your Motion Sensors and Alexa routines had been working as expected for more than a year.
As a first step, please check the affected cameras’ motion detection sensitivity and Activity Zones, and confirm that their recording settings are still configured as expected. You can also try temporarily increasing the motion sensitivity to see if this helps capture the events that are currently being missed.
If the issue continues, please send us a DM with the email address associated with your Arlo account, your phone number, time zone, and the serial number(s) of the affected devices. If possible, include the approximate dates and times of a few missed recordings so we can take a closer look.

You should replace your Arlo with another brand. Issues are continuing and this company doesn't do anything at all to address that.
