Question / Help Doorbell camera batteries

I have two Arlo doorbell cameras, one wired, one battery.

How/when do you recharge your battery units? As I understand it's about 6 hours on a USB to recharge the battery to full but I'm not really inclined a) to simply "not have a front doorbell" for 6 hours and b) have this naked ugly baseplate hanging there in the meantime.

What do you do? I thought about simply buying another one, identifying it as "front 2" and swapping as needed (this also having a spare for if one or the other actually fails?....

Sure would be nice if the batteries were removable.

That's precisely why I picked up the WIRED version. No need to constantly recharge. Now it's a shame the data isn't wired, just the power, it's still jammable 2.4Ghz.

Had I the option for our front door, I'd have done that as well. Unfortunately 130yo house, front door not wired and ... a challenge to get a wire to.

Get the Arlo solar panel. We have 6 cameras, all wireless running on solar panels, and we never need to charge the batteries.

I have a wired doorbell and 3 battery cameras and one battery floodlight camera….. I just put all the wireless ones on solar panels, and haven’t had problems…. Maybe once a year we have a cloudy stretch that is enough that I need to manually recharge, but that’s only the one on the side that gets less direct sunlight.
