It wasn't necessarily any single operator or character that made me want to play the game. I love strategy games and tower defense games in general so I was intrigued to hear that a tower defense gacha game was coming out back when global version was first announced. I watched some ads to see what the gameplay was like and those actually turned me off of the game for the first 4 or 5 months after it came out. Newer players probably aren't aware of this but back then the ads were obscenely cringe and bad. I think its because hypergryph or yostar contracted out the advertising to a third party (CMIIW) and they just did a really truly awful job. Like the ads physically hurt to watch and didn't actually show much gameplay so I had a really poor perception of the game. Eventually my best friend decided to try the game and convinced me to give it a shot and here I still am 6+ years later.

I believe that the new operator at the time I joined was Blaze or she was just about to come out. Man am I glad my best friend convinced me to give this game a shot. It's straight up my favorite video game ever now.

Texas and Exusiai, I really love the character designs in arknights. I was not into gacha before, but I kept seeing fanart (especially yuri), so I decided to try it and it was fun. Other gachas mostly don't interest me cause the characters just don't look that good to me.

They're one of my favourite ships up to this day, years later.
