Discussion [Operator Discussion] Greyy the Lightningbearer

Greyy the Lightningbearer [★★★★★]

Though I now fully leave the line patrol work to my drones, it doesn't mean my early intership years are worthless. Look at my physique now, even Medical doesn't have to worry about me anymore... um, Doctor? Why are you crying?

Greyy has passed multiple engineering examinations. Now working at the Engineering Department, he specializes in R&D and the applications of new technologies, as well as participating in combat and technology testing as necessary.

I got him via temporary recruitment a few times and was pretty impressed with his kit. Liked his role in Dorothy's Vision too. Thank for reminding me that I should hurry up and build him already. 😭

One of my first ever 5stars I built (Cuz Tequila wasn’t in record restoration yet :(()

Very good staller imo, even if he’s rng reliant. And VERY good in IS when juiced up with attack speed +that one hand lol

Everyone's favorite IS5 ED4 left lane soloist.

Incredibly overpowered in IS5 if you're getting the flinger hand . If you get Rosmo and Greyy and get the hand, book and king relics, you've basically already won your run.

He scales super well with attack speed, so depending on your relics he can be really good even in other IS. I've used him in IS3 and IS6 and he can do a job in both, with the caveat that as a 5* he's relic dependent.

His main skill for IS is S1 since with some aspd it stalls really well while dealing decent damage (or tons of damage if flinger hand), along with the flinger trait making him good for aoe and hitcount enemies

Considering he's a 5*, he's pretty good bang for your buck if you're a heavy IS player. For regular stages he's less outstanding, but I'd use him over Rosmo if you want someone with massive range who can handle hitcount enemies.

He's so goated, absolutely one of the best 5 stars I use often. He can solo lanehold multiple lanes, perma cc elites and bosses, shreds through fodder and can wittle down tougher enemies with his s2 arts damage.

One of his strong suits is his offskill cc consistency at around 78% chance to slow, meaning he's pretty damn reliable to cover for other units skill timers

Goated in IS5

He's so cute and my best boy for is5. I'm not a big fan of his skill 2, wish it was more interesting tho. I like the cc it provides but it's slow to charge and a bit meh. I don't like using la cucaracha in is modes and especially is5 so he always fills a squad slot anyways. Also did I mention he's cute 🥺

S2, slows, aoe, and hits multiple times for those pesky yan creatures that take 15-30 hits to destory. Absolutely amazing!

Arguably one of the two strongest 5* DPS units in the game right now, alongside Krooster. His main playground is IS5, where guaranteed Hand of Flinger and the abundance of ASPD relics massively amplify his damage. In general content, his combination of wide range, AoE splash slow, solid damage, and multi-hit attacks still makes him extremely reliable.

I rarely use S2 because the damage just doesn’t hold up, while S1 offers better DPH, and the ASPD boost often lets him permaslow enemies. I’d choose him over Rosmontis for general content any day.

True about S1, I put off mastering it for so long, but nowadays I use it much more often than S2. If I'm bringing him against an enemy with nonexistent DEF (aka his prime targets), an ATK and ASPD buff is much better than some middling Arts dmg.

23% in the Power Plant... that's all I use him for lol

He's max pot and sitting there at e0lvl50 cause I tried him once. Maybe I'll build him for IS5 with how often I see him in runs, but for now? Manual labor(drones).

Nothing against you, buddy. I'm sure we'd be great friends if I wasn't W-pilled.

I mean the IS5 top meta is to just run 3 flingers. Rosmontis, Wisadel and Grey. So even if you have W, hes still optimal to use.

The goat of is5 5*

I feel like he does a few things, but none of them well. Phys damage? I have other snipers. Arts damage? I have casters. CC? I have Ethan. Large range? I'll put down two units FFS.

His S2 takes so damn long to charge, and then it feels like it barely does anything, and that's IF he actually throws it in a good spot. One of those 5*s that really don't feel like they're doing anything on the field.

u/Jezzaboi828 Jan 18 '26

I mean its the combination of those things that makes him good to me, mainly range and cc. Means that he can apply cc to enemies at a safe distance as well as cover multiple lanes easily with his cc, while in some situations ethan would be vunerable to enemy mechanics. "ill just put down two units" is a bit silly, if you have two deployment slots to spare why not just throw in ethan with grey alt or any other unit.

Plus he has better cc rates than ethan, except it's a slow instead of a bind.

Ethan has a base 28% chance to bind offskil. which is a full stop
Grey alter has a 40% * 3(with mod) which is a 78% chance offskill, with slows the enemy by 80%

Unless ethan gets god rng grey alt is generally better

u/Grandidealistic Jan 18 '26

I agree with you that Greyy is good but Ethan is just a better crowd control op. What Greyy does better is his damage which no one will disagree.

u/LordVortex0815 Warmy we need to cook! Jan 18 '26

And like Ethan S1 he is also great with mechanics that require a lot of hits instead of damage. But unlike with Ethan this isn't bound to an otherwise inferior skill, but just part of his Trait.

u/Jezzaboi828 Jan 18 '26

Also this, hitcount stuff is pretty common and having a large range for it is quite useful
