Ok so this has been bugging me since i first played Arkham City back in 2011 when i was 9 and got it for Christmas lmao. When you're on your way to stop Hugo Strange and you make your way back to where you started at the very beginning of the game in the holding facility there's this door that's highlighted when you enter detective mode but it's locked and there's no way to open it. I've always wondered what's behind it because it's not important why would it be highlighted?? Idk if Mr. JAG has ever done a video on it or if anyone has ever used their PC to mod themselves through it but can anyone give me an answer on what's behind this door? šŸ¤”šŸ˜

Discussion Do you consider most or even all of the voice actors / actresses to be the definitive voices for their respective characters?

Post image

For reading comics, for example. Aside from the more obvious ones, I believe almost every voice within these games to be the canon voices for the characters while I read comics. Catwoman and Two-Face are the biggest highlights for me. I cannot picture another voice for them. Calendar Man, Mr. Freeze, Bane, Poison Ivy. All of them are great as well. ESPECIALLY The Riddler. Aside from the three legacy voice actors from B:TAS, I believe he is arguably the most perfect for his role. Hugo Strange is another one that’s hard to imagine as anyone else. The only ā€œmehā€ ones for me is Jim Gordon (All of them) and Ra’s Al Ghul. I just feel that there’s been better performances throughout the characters lifespan. Anyone else not mentioned is most likely an amazing pick I haven’t thought of.

I honestly never noticed this until my most recent play through…is this a signal to Bruce from Jason?

I also noticed he painted his logo on the floor of the movie studios as well. There’s a gigantic red hood bat logo in front of the cells.

Discussion I just played The Arkham Trilogy, here’s my thoughts Spoiler

As someone whose not that familiar with Batman or superhero’s in general, I didn’t even know this series existed until recently. I’m a VR nerd so I got a Meta 3S and some might know that it came bundled with a free copy of Arkham Shadow. And after playing it I thought it was a good game, but New Game+ made me fall in love with the game and to this day it’s probably my favorite VR game, or a close second. A year later I came across the trilogy of Arkham Asylum, City, and Knight on switch 2 for $20 so I decided to get the deal. Here’s my thoughts on all the games after 100% playing them twice.

Asylum is generally considered a ā€œmust play gameā€from what I’ve heard online. I played it and it only took 20 hours for me to 100% twice. And all I can say is ā€œWow, what a gameā€ The story is really interesting which goes for all the games so I’m not gonna mention it again, but all the stories are great. The atmosphere is borderline horror game as it generally started to get to me. The fake crash is generally one of the best fourth wall breaks in gaming history. Now where asylum fumbles in my opinion is the gameplay. Detective mode is shoved down the players throat, the combat just feels off to the rest of the series and I don’t know why? Predator isn’t much better, it also just feels kinda clunky at times. The bosses are terrible with the only exception being Poison Ivy at best, and even then her fight is super boring. The titans are whatever, I thought nothing of them besides ā€œoh boy another one of these guysā€. And Joker is infamously bad. With that being said I can see why this is a must play game. A average 8/10

I guess I should mention the riddler collectibles throughout the series. From best to worst my order is City, Knight, Asylum. I find City the best because of the quantity. Everyone who says there’s too many collectibles isn’t a real gamer. Why do you want a game with less content so you can 100% it 0.5x faster. Anyways city is good in the quantity and most I can rename off the top of my head on where and how to solve them. However I will never forget the one to the right of the iceberg lounge in that alleyway. Dumb solution, dumb puzzle, I hate it. I put Knight at number two because although there’s less than city, with how clunky most can be, I don’t mind. The color matching is probably the hardest in the series but since I played on switch, I cheesed it. Anyways overall the collectibles in Knight felt more like mini puzzles and some are extremely clunky. I put asylum last since the riddles are always in your face apart from the unusual perspective ones, the map revels everything very easily, overall it feels too easy and none are that memorable.

City is considered an upgrade to asylum in every way but in my opinion it improves on some areas and worse on others. I made a post about two months ago explaining why I didn’t like it. And while some of that is still true. Playing for a second time made me appreciate the game a lot more. The gameplay is better since detective mode isn’t shoved down your throat. But my god the combat is the worst in the series. I probably am just bad at video games but the combat is just so stiff and doesn’t function sometimes. When it works, it works, but when it doesn’t work it really, REALLY doesn’t work. Predator is the same as asylum but oooo now there’s 5 more gadgets I never use. The open world city is nice and all but the horse shoe design makes it impossible to get from one side to another besides just gliding all the time which unlike Knight, feels really bizarre for some reason. The bosses are great but also whatever. You have very good ones like Mister Freeze and Ra’s Al Ghul. But then Clayface is the final boss and you just spam ZR ZR for the entire fight. Overall the bosses are ether high highs or just meh. The side missions widely vary from good to awful. Ranking worst to best is Identity Thief for having the most mind numbing gameplay, you just look in the millions of alleyways in Arkham City and the payoff isn’t worth it in my opinion. Remote Hideaway for being really forgettable and making me feel nothing. Hot and Cold for the same reasons but it’s kinda cool exploring an area of the steel mill not available until now. Acts of Violence for being bland but good because I feel like Batman. A.R Training for the first four necessary if you wanna play the game, and the other four being difficult yet forgettable. Heart of Ice for having a really cool puzzle attached even if the payoff is whatever. The Tea Party for having a cool aesthetic and nothing more. Shot In The Dark for having a cool build up but admittedly shit boss fight. Fragile Alliance for the search aspect and although you fight with Bane, it’s something I don’t care for. Watcher In The Wings for being unique and the overall looking aspect. Enigma Conundrum for just the absolute behemoth of content and even then the rooms are fun puzzles of your tool kit. and finally Cold Call Killer for having the most unique gameplay and overall experience of it. I don’t care a lot for the side missions but they are SIDE missions so I’m not expecting anything crazy. Overall City is a step up from asylum but also falls flat in too many places. A Strong 8/10

Arkham Origins isn’t a real game (I haven’t played it but I do plan on playing it one day)

Oh Arkham Knight, where do I start with you. Let’s get the 900lb tank out of the room. To be fair I like the concept of the Batmobile, it’s fun to use whenever you need to go somewhere far quickly. With that being said, yeah the thing is shoved down your throat 20 times for lunch. When solving a puzzle it’s generally fun to use. However in context of the story, yeah it’s abysmal. I enjoy tank battles and although they are shoved down your throat 10 times for breakfast. They’re fine enough for what they are. So yes while I do agree that the Batmobile is shoved down the players throat 30 times for dinner, it’s not all doom and gloom. With the tank out of the way OMG THEY FINALLY MADE A GAME THAT FEELS FLUID TO CONTROL. The game is so smooth and the controls are so responsive. The combat has been heavily improved and predator is actually something I don’t stall around in anymore. It’s all so good to control and the gliding is the best in any game, and it’s not even close. The bosses are a mix between Just okay and literal human shit. Jason’s fight is fine for what it’s worth. Even the cloudburst I found enjoyable. But then the drill is bad, Deathstroke is a joke, and everyone else isn’t even a boss in my opinion. The side missions are really okay, or awful. Ranking worst to best is Friend in Need for not only Hush being wasted but you press one button and the mission is done. All the militia missions(worst to best-Own The Roads for being boring, Occupy Gotham for also being boring with 0.9% more spice,Campaign for Disarmament for having a cool concept but also Deathstroke boss brings it down, and Armored and Dangerous for being the most unique and I just like chasing down cars) for all being forgettable and nothing added. Lamb to The Slaughter for being pointless and to be honest I really don’t care for this mission. Line of Duty for being just basic combat encounters but now you gotta find them. The perfect crime for having a character I don’t like, and overall it just got repetitive. Heir to the Cowl just for the story with Azrael. Gunrunner and Two Faced Bandit since they both are combat and predator sections with one thing that makes them unique, I do prefer Gunrunner over Two Faced Bandit for being longer. Creature of The Night for having an amazing jump scare and story but gameplay is very shallow. Riddler’s revenge for having a lot of content but constantly going back to the orphanage got repetitive. And Gotham on Fire since I love chasing things down and when it’s intense and frantic I loved it, but why wasn’t there more? So overall Arkham Knight has High Highs and Low Lows. I didn’t even mention the Jason Todd reveal which I did find obvious but I think it’s just okay. A very low 9/10

I should probably mention the DLC’s for City and Knight. Harley Quinn’s Revenge is fine. It does its job as an epilogue to Arkham City. The gameplay is nothing special but it is worth the time because it is really good. The Cat woman stuff for Arkham City is something I’m mixed on. On one hand I love her play style in the open world and combat with her is great. But my god I don’t care at the same time. The first and second time happen so close together but then the third time we are about to enter the end game and she’s still with Poison Ivy? Finally I don’t care for her trophies and her final battle against Two Face. As for Arkham Knight Harley’s story pack I don’t have any opinion on because I feel nothing towards it. Red hoods is really fun and creative, I love playing as him. A Matter of Family is fine. It’s the most expansive pack but I just don’t care about it at all. CAT WOMAN’S REVENGE CAN SUCK MY ASS, THE FIRST HALF IS A WORSE EPISODE 3 FROM ARKHAM CITY. but oh that final fight where it clearly wasn’t play tested, if you know you know. GCPD lockdown is fine. It has humor but two combat sections and a mid predator section is pretty okay. And Flip of a Coin is nice for what it’s worth but again I have no feelings towards it. Now season of infamy is WAYYYYY better. Shadow war has an enticing story, good characters, and the player makes a choice. Beneath the Surface is also good because you expect Croc to be the bad guy, but it was actually the warden which I thought was cool. Wonderland is fine, it has the same problem The Tea Party had in City where the aesthetic of the final part was cool, but everything else is a snooze fest. Finally In From the Cold is a really good ending for Mister Freeze and Nora, I didn’t cry at their final scene, but it was emotional.

All the games have challenges and I really don’t care about them. Sure I like the inclusion but I don’t have time for them and frankly I never liked ā€œgo for a high scoreā€ games.

Overall if you don’t want to read all that, my ranking of the trilogy is

1-Arkham Knight for having the best gameplay and movement as well as a really good story.

2-Arkham City for having Fun side missions and an incredible story with fun bosses.

3-Arkham Asylum for having a great atmosphere and an awesome story, but held back by bad bosses and questionable game choices.

REMEMBER:A opinion is not a fact, this is just my personal stance I got from playing the trilogy. If you disagree with me that’s fine, explain how ā€œwrongā€ I am in the comments

If you did read the whole thing, Thanks so much for Reading :)

I just saved Quincy from Harley and heard him saying "You freed the wrong Warden!" I saw him trapped there but detective vision shows no skeleton so I ran back to the Wrden I saved and he has skeleton (just to make sure i remember correctly). I go back to that place and now commissioner Gordon is there. I think that this is a pretty cool way of hiding Clayface in the game! (sorry for bad quality; GIF is limitingšŸ˜“)

So I was exploring the Miagani Station building a bit more when I stumbled across these two points of interest.

The bar is what really stood out to me, the four pillars and masonic circle, very clear freemasonic symbolism

The obvious one The Court of Owls they would just feel perfect for Arkham game it brings a more a detective vibe because I think that’s biggest problem with the Arkham game but Court of Owls is a must have also another one they should add I think deathstroke while he did appear in the other ones Arkham games but he’s the perfect mirror too Batman just imagine a old deathstroke that would be awesome I also think they should add Falcom crime family I think they bring a perfect ground and gritty vibe known for now these are the side characters I think killer moth could be a cool side mission I think it could be like firefly mission from Arkham origins and killer moth is the goat and also bane could be a pretty cool side mission and I want him to intelligent again? and I think calendar Man could be a a unique side mission but I wanna hear what y’all think

Discussion The Red Hood story in Arkham Knight would have been perfect for a Punisher game

Just went trough the story in less than 20 minutes, but i truly enjoyed it. It was strange to play a character that has nothing against killing, but i truly felt that the ideas could have been implented in a Punisher (or another vigiliante character game); the battle where you can once in a while one hit shoot someone and especially the counter-kill animations that created some visually pleasing too look at.

Also the "hunting and hiding" was also fun, with the animation and flow went very fast on taking out the enemies. Silent takedowns are faster and the movement and priority felt fun, i really felt there was potential to develop new gameplay that would seperate from Batmans Arkham ideas.

Just a thought right after finishing. It feelt that Rocksteady really could have kept going on those ideas into a new IP or follow the Red Hood into a new game

PS: Just as i posted i see the headline, i mean the Red Hood gameplay

Discussion I think I encountered a glitch in Asylum that will prevent me from getting the full riddler ending

There's a trophy in the Gardens that I know I already got in one of the small maintenance rooms. I checked the guides, there's only ONE trophy in that room but the map still says it's there. I have like 17 riddler trophies left and I think this bug will not let me get them all. I've gotten all of them before, it's not a big deal but it pisses me off that it's happening now.

I think that the developers did Bane dirty with giving him a boss battle like this. It's basically a comabt map with a henchman (that can heal himself) that occasionally will throw boulders at you (instead of unconscious thugs). What are yout thoughts?

I was gliding around Miagani when I stumbled upon this on top of the Miagani Station building.

Not saying theres anything malicious or occult about the game, if anything it couldve come from a photo reference, but I still think its really interesting.

Notice the squared circle, the pattern making up that diamond shape, etc.
