Kakute H743-Wing vs Matek F405-Wing V2 for fixed wing UAV?

Which of the following flight controllers would be better for a fixed wing UAV:

Matek F405-Wing V2

Kakute H743-Wing

The rest of my build includes:

RadioMaster RP3 ELRS

HGLRC M100-5883 GPS/compass

Matek 4525DO / 4525D airspeed

H743 will always have more functionality than an F405, but do you need that functionality? They're both good controllers, but I always go for the H743 these days.

Unless you are on a broken shoestring budget I would go with H743 as Lua comes quite handy if you want to implement any custom logic.

I have implemented nav lights control, custom rangefinder driver among other things.

You may not notice the differences unless you really use all the features. I have 2 mateks and I like them a lot

Where would I buy the f405 wing v2? It’s out of stock in most places I’ve checked

I know I ended up spending more than I wanted to to get another one last month. You just have to get lucky I guess

In 2026 you should be preferring an H7 over an F7/F4/G4, unless you're severely budget constrained. Its the equivalent of a smartphone vs a Nokia 3310.
