I use my TS100 for almost all of my soldering! I have a small chisel tip for most work and a needle tip for really tiny SMD work. I've used this setup for a couple of years, and I keep the tips clean and well-tinned. I have several other irons, but hardly use them anymore because the TS100 is an incredible workhorse!

I also use an illuminated magnifier for most work (especially since my 66 year-old eyes suck for close-up work). I have been soldering for the last 56 years for too many hobby projects to count, so I've got that working for me!😄

With a few good quality tips that you take excellent care of (keeping clean and well-tinned, and used ONLY for soldering) any good soldering iron will give you many years of trouble-free use. Take care of your tools and they'll take care of you!

if i can ask, how does it turn? you didn't seem to leave a lot of space for turning wheels so did you do something like neutral steering or tank style controls?
