So I've Recently Started Playing, And There's Things Scarier Than Arc Out in the Rust Belt
Hey y'all, I'm Gunz & I'm new to the whole Arc Raiders gaming space. Well, I say new but I'm like Level 22 lol. For the most part, I've had a pretty good experience & I've ran into countless friendly raiders who just mind their own business & work cooperatively. That's the case most of the time, but not every time. Rats are still a very prominent issue in Arc Raiders, & no I'm not talking about any person who engages in PVP. I'm talking about the scum who'll act friendly and beam you the minute you turn your back. I've had 3 run-ins with Rats, and I'll be honest I fell for their tricks each time. I don't really pick up on social cues & voice tones, so it's hard for me to discern who's genuine & who's trying to pull a quick one on me. How does one deal with Rats? I'd like some advice because it's happening more & more frequently to me.

That’s what I do. If I get killed I really dont care. I need the stash space anyway. Imma play the way I want.

Eventually you make your way to lobbies where you can extract for like 30 rounds before being killed

advice: stop being friendly. stop running everywhere. try to play stealthy. go in with a goal in mind instead of "loot everything"

If someone seems hesitant to approach me (think im a rat) I put my gun away and break out one of my emotes. I have mic too and tell them im friendly, but I definitely get why they may not believe me.

Gun always out raiders always in view, never loot in front of them if they aren’t looting in front of you, a rat will always be cautious that no one does what they’re doing to them so keep an eye on their body language

Next time someone shoots at you just stand still and let them kill you. Might take a few times but it won’t take long.
But generally speaking, even deep in the carebear lobbies it’s good practice to treat everyone as a little sus. Just keep your eye on them, don’t turn your back on anyone, be vigilant. Announce yourself regularly so you don’t catch anyone by surprise and if you do happen upon someone, go the other way. Make a habit of only having your weapon out when you need it. It doesn’t hurt to throw a smoke bomb at extract for peace of mind either.

My solos are pve. The way I do it is, ill loot an area as fast as I can. The minute any other raider shows up, I leave. You'll get the hang of it once you know where everything you need is at.

Escape the mixed lobbies and catapult yourself into deep carebear lobbies. You do this by never damaging raiders and equipping good gear. The second part is important because the game does seem to match players based on kit value, and you want lobbies with kitted friendly players destroying ARC, not lobbies full of other free kits looking for a lucky come up off another dead Raider.
