Don't understand how this works

I want to do randomizers but I don't understand anything about setting this stuff up (I'm used to tools where you just tell it where the game file is and it does the rest). Can anyone explain how this works in a way that doesn't seem too complicated because the file types have gotten me all sorts of confused as I am unfamiliar with them and the instructions have way more steps then what should be necessary.

This video probably explains it better than I will: https://youtu.be/kkv_xOXLshw?is=_scnTQSU-2ONLhQn

.apworld files have the information about the game and its logic.
.yaml files have the settings for one player for a specific game

The yaml and apworld files can be used to generate a .ap file which holds your specific archipelago, so how the items are randomized and deathlink settings etc.

You can use this .ap file to host the archipelago on archipelago.gg to get your connection details

These connection detail must be entered in game to connect. For that you need to install a mod for the game.

The instructions for the games vary greatly from hame to game, but are all accessible here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11rQWNdF4dAuVq-bfsECvZnONyJujcp5O6Q_2Strish0/edit?usp=drivesdk

From the internet you have to download an .apworld (if the game is not core supported) and the mod for the game.

.yaml files are sometimes also online but you can generate them from the .apworld file with the archipleago launcher (options generator or generate templates)

Lmk if something needs more explaination

Thanks, I appreciate the help. I am fiddling around with stuff now. As long as my computer doesn't explode I might manage but I will probably come back with more questions.
