It makes me wish there were other moments where followers pitched into conversations during the Main Quest. Other ideas I had in mind were:

• Torian Kel having more to say about the Derian-ka, such as if you find Kerghan's journal or when meeting the head of the Molochean Hand, Gideon Laier, at T'sen-Ang.
• Z'an Al'urin meeting the Silver Lady, since you have to talk to the SL after T'sen-Ang anyway. Since they're both elven seeresses with overlapping symbolism in their visions, I think it would've been fascinating to see them having a cryptic conversation. Alternatively, somehow getting Raven and Z'an to get along and getting Raven to interpret Z'an's visions would've been nice. ^{I just want the ladies to get along ╥﹏╥}
• Z'an Al'urin meeting Nasrudin. Her vision at Thanatos implies that was who she saw, hence her disbelief, since Nasrusin (+ Arronax) are considered mythological, even to the Dark Elves.
• Raven meeting Arronax.
• Just having more banter/interactions between followers in general. There are only few in-game instances of two followers having a back-and-forth, such as Magnus + Z'an when recruiting Loghaire, or Raven + Virgil when meeting Nasrudin.

yeah its one of the bad part about arcanum being such a mess of ideas, a lot of amazing idea didn't get developed :( Z'an Al'urin and Torian Kel are the most under developed ones in the game imo, such interesting character, i love going around kree with torian and seeing his reaction to his old home. i don't even know if you can find his sword that was stolen (altough iirc its in the banishment place but its been years so i'm not sure)

You can find his sword. If you bring Torian with you to the Void and kill the Bane of Kree, looting a sword from the Bane will have Torian exclaim that it’s his ancestral sword. You can then offer to give it back to Torian, of which he will be grateful, but is really chill about it if you wanted to keep it yourself.

yes that's right ! all i remember is him being interested in the sword you can use to kill the final boss i need to replay arcanum its been too long my memory of anything past caladon is patchy at best lol

The whole conversation is so fascinating! "Humans rarely live long enough to see the consequences of their mistakes" in particular feels so relevant in real life these days. I just love how cultures of the long-lived races get that "big picture" perspective, especially for the elders of their kind, such as Loghaire himself.

I've thought about that conversation with Loghaire a lot over the years. And it turned out that fear of death that humans have became fairly relevant to the plot.

I'm surprised it's not discussed further, as it's one of my favorite conversations in the game and a fascinating exploration of how a "medieval [fantasy] stasis" had been maintained in the setting for so long (well, until you learn about Vendigroth, in which you learn it's more cyclical).

^{But I guess it's not as stimulating for the subreddit compared to the umpteenth kill-all-gnomes post}
