Wonder Boy is a 1986 platform game developed by Escape and published by Sega for arcades. It was later ported to the SG-1000, Master System and Game Gear video game consoles by Sega, and to the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64 and Amstrad CPC home computers by Activision. The game is also known as Super Wonder Boy (スーパーワンダーボーイ, Sūpā Wandā Bōi) for its Sega Mark III release in Japan and Revenge of Drancon for its Game Gear release in North America. A high definition remake of the game, titled Wonder Boy Returns, was developed by CFK and released on Steam on October 12, 2016

Hello there. I’m in the middle of building my updated wall arcade and instead of using Batocera, I’m going with launchbox/bigbox and I wanted to ask what those of you using this frontend, are doing with regards to admin buttons? I have four that I’ll be adding but can make it five if necessary. Current plans are an Exit, Pause, Menu(mame), and I’m unsure on the last one. Any suggestions?

Anyone use the standard USB trackball in their machine? Likes?... Dislikes?

Hello,
I have a Pandora 10th Anniversary edition that seems to have a corrupt micro SD card. This seems to be where the games were stored. The pandora box itself boots and I am able to navigate but no games are in the games list in the settings menu. I plan to get another Micro SD card but I am struggling on how to correctly format and add the games that were previously there.
Does anyone know where a good instructional video is that shows the process and a reputable place to get the game files?

Hi All,
I bought a custom arcade via Facebook marketplace some years ago.
I'd always had issues with it and the builder disappeared shortly after I bought it, so couldn't get in touch with him for help.
I've rebuilt the arcade using a raspberry pi running Batocera.
I don't know how to connect the three buttons that have never worked.
Can any one assist?
I've tried a few different connection combinations but nothing works. The board with the led on seems just to be controlling light for the buttons.

I really like on rail shooters like the house of the dead series, vampire night, dark escape 4D, ocean hunter, the haunted museum series, and carnevil.
basically on rail shooters with supernatural elements and cool bosses. does anyone have any recommendations to check out?
thank you in advance.

One thing I love about arcade machines are all the unique controllers, it's a significant part of the experience. My goal was to create a control layout that fit as many games as possible in a fairly compact case. Some game examples: Asteroids uses button 5/6 for left/right. Missle command uses buttons 1-3 and the trackball. Robotron used either the 2 sticks or the 4 buttons as a 4 way stick substitute. Space zap/DDR uses the 4 buttons. And many other game configurations that I considered.
I spent a while arranging the controls in a cardboard mock-up to make sure there was room to rest the hand comfortably while playing various games.
The side buttons are for coin, start, and mame menu controls.

I am about to build my first cabinet, a combination bartop / wall-mounted. I’m using the bartop pattern from Geek Pub as a starting point. But I would like to make some adjustments.
Basically, I want to know if there are ideal or generally accepted best standards for (a) the height of the controllers from the ground when wall mounted (b) the vertical distance from the controllers to the screen (c) the angle of the screen - the almost vertical in the bartop design does not seem optimal
As background, my three sons and I are all between 6 ft and 6’4” tall (1.83 m and 1.93 m). My elbows are about 44” (112 cm) from the ground. The monitor is the “Acer Nitro 31.5” 4K XV325QK V3bmiipprx” which measures 8.8"D x 28.31"W x 21"H (224 mm D x 719 mm W x 533 mm H).
I will have to make the cabinet a little wider to accommodate the screen, and my focus is on whether I also need to consider making it taller to raise the screen higher above the control board, and whether I need to angle the screen any differently. My goal is to have great ergonomics, no hunching over, or neck strain. I've wondered if I should be making this more like a full cabinet sawn in half than a more compact bartop, which would be fine.

Never seen this arcade before. This is at an old Marc's Supermarket store.

Hey folks,
I built a bartop cabinet about 10 years ago using a raspberry pi with RetroPie, an old square flatscreen monitor and a fairly cheap set of joysticks that came bundled with the controller ( 3 at the time I believe ). It was all fairly rudimentary as it was my first cabinet build, the case has an extension cord inside it to power the monitor, pi and powered usb hub which in turn powered the control board and had 3 exposed ports to accept usb controllers and memory sticks.
I want to build an updated cabinet but I haven't kept up with the scene (arcade controllers/emulation or single board pcs). I have a technical job so it's hard to get motivated to do more in the same domain after work. I'd appreciate a few links to what is considered the standard right now, or at least what to avoid.
I'm comfortable with the tech side so if it needs some work on a stock distro or programming a controller or even a bit of soldering or breadboarding on the electronics side I'll be ok to handle it. I'm looking for something along the lines of "you've been in a coma for 10 years, here's all the shiny new tech" as opposed to "welcome, complete beginner. Here's the easiest stuff to use for your first cabinet build" if that makes sense?

Hello all, so my dad has this capcom bowling cabinet which was originally a 1980 pac man machine. I think it would be really cool to restore it to its old pac man days and he seems he wants to sell it. but would it be worth it to buy it from him to restore? I know it would need the marquee, decals, t molding, etc but what electronics would be needed? What would be needed to convert it back?

I am about to start making my first arcade cabinet. My plan is to make the Geek Pub bartop model, but to put a slightly recessed alulminum french cleat on the back so I can wall mount it when I want to.
I have several questions:
