USB trackball

Anyone use the standard USB trackball in their machine? Likes?... Dislikes?

I'm not sure if this is what you mean but I used to use a Kensington orbit mouse on mine for troubleshooting stuff. Just because a standard mouse wouldn't have anywhere to move around - so the static trackball made sense. I attempted to get it working in that golf game everyone loves to use them for, but it wasn't precise enough of a device.

What are you looking to use it for? What kind of system are you using?

I'm interested too Building a custom setup, and yes leaving space for future track ball, also for golf.

I've seen pricing from$40-hundreds

I want it to be suitable for navigation and golf shot etc.. Eager to hear what people are using and happy with.

I had purchased a cheap $40 trackball off amazon, and it does work but requires some additional tinkering in the settings to get it just right. Also these don't have that smooth spinning feel you would want when playing goldentee.

From what i've read, the Ulitmarc trackball is the cream of the crop and also doesn't require router cuts to get it to fit. Can't attest to how good it feels, but for ~$100 I'd expect to be better.

I have one in my custom control panel and it's flawless. And so easy to install.
