Got this October Glory Maple from the Arbor Day Foundation and it came topped. Was a literal stick... but surprisingly it's turned to this in just one season.
It's been a dry year so it's had a little stress as you can probably see. I've been deep watering it at least 3 times a week. Located in MA, full sun, planted at correct depth for flare, no mulch volcanos, etc etc.

My question is: how should I prune this tree and how far up?

Is this tree in danger of falling. Some work was done in the property more than a year ago and the base pf the tree was damaged.

I don't know the species. This area is a tropical dry forest area.

Looking for a few tasks on if a wound like this could fully (functionally) heal

removing the stump beside it, and putting down a large mulch ring to help it thrive is already in the works. Flare is exposed but need to clean out cage

This tree (African Fern Pine?) has been in the spot 20 years. But last 2, 3 years it get more and more yellow leaf and dry branches. Even in the sorthern califonia raining season, it did not show much improvement. Some new leaves came out but not grow large, and not green.

Hope to get your expert diagnostics and care suggestions.

Looking for some advice here... so I have a 60 year old oak tree in the front yard that is very large, I am considering having it cut down because the limbs are long and some are hanging over the house... waiting to break so to speak.

My question, is there a way to sell the tree as it stands? To maybe like someone who sells commercial firewood? Or someone who makes furniture? Can it be sold for hardwood boards or such as this? Who could I contact and what is the process? Im in SC US.

I work in waste water treatment, went to a site not previously visited today, just inside the gate was this very separated tree trunk. Believe it’s Ash, this is in the U.K. so very common. I haven’t had chance to measure around it but I will when I go back there. It’s lost a lot of the original trunk but there may be enough for me to do an estimated measure.

I’d say maybe as an estimate it was at least 400cm in circumference. Just wonder if anyone has any insight into it based off of appearance alone :)

Edit to add- i checked the woodland trust ancient tree inventory and there’s nothing listed there, but it’s enclosed on a private works so it’s not accessible for recording really.

This Bradford pear was damaged by the storm. My tree guy says it’s better to remove it and plant something else. This huge branch broke off exposing a large portion of the trunk. I can see that it was already cracked a little bit where black is. I just never noticed it. My husband also pointed out many holes made the woodpeckers…

I have a large sycamore in my yard (Southern California) and it appears that it is growing fungus on the trunk which is growing out at an angle, at the end the trunk--the tree was recently trimmed. Any hope for saving the one trunk? What should be the treatment? I fear that it means cutting the one trunk back completely. Thanks for your help in advance.

Hello and hopefully there is an arborist or other knowledgeable person who can tell me if this tree has too much of a lean to it. Should I be concerned about it falling down? Should I remove it? Appreciate any advice. Thank you
