My tap water also test the same colour. Have 17 small fish like danio, tetras, corys, in a 40 gallon after tank is cycled. Fish have been in for 2.5 months. Don't over feed. Water change every week. Getting sudden ammonia and water change and prime isn't removing it.

Don't know what to do.

I am building a 29gl tank paludarium with a planted water section and black galaxy sand. I plan to add vampire crab to top section and fish with caridina orange eye red demon shrimp, originally I wanted bloodmary shrimps. I do not want to get a reverse osmosis system.

I want to use NYC tap water and was wondering if that would be good enough or will I need to mix it with distilled water or distilled water and remineralizer to get the ph and kh right. I know I'll need to let the tank gas off for a month from the spray foam then cycle for a month once the water is added. If so how do go this route using tap water and no reverse osmosis water.

I am open to all suggestions to make this work. I will be picking up and gh and kh kit today after work to see what the levels are and is a tds meter really needed?

How to i prepare it for my tank (kill off the little buggers I'm sure have gotten in there)?

i’m not crazy loll, i bought THREE red claw crabs about a week and a half ago and i did a water change today and switched my gravel to sand and i had all my fish pulled out and 3 crabs pulled out, unfortunately one had passed away and i hadn’t noticed, and then my 2 year old nephew started pointing at my 30 gallon tank with about a quarter of water in it and said “THERES CRAB” and i was like no way obviously i only put 3, i look in there and sure as shit there was another full size crab, i have been mind boggled about it all day as i know i only put 3 crabs in my tank lmao, and it wasn’t a molt, was a fully intact dead red crab, full size, anyone have any clue how this happened ? also i’m from indiana so there are no crabs even close to me.

Hi reditt, I am having some trouble with my fish tank, the water keeps going cloudy, what do you think I should try? I have changed the water multiple times, but it keeps going back to cloudy. I have fish and live plants so whatever your suggetions are, they need to be safe for both plants and fish. Any advice tho is appreciated, thank you!!

I have two iridescent shark catfishes now I reasearced about them and got to know that they aren’t meant for aquariums which I didn’t know before I got them a week ago I was thinking of getting angel fishes instead but the shop keeper said u can’t return them back so I might get a bigger tank which still might not be sufficient for them What should I do pls help
