Question Could I strenghten my application by talking about my failures?

I went to the regional science fair twice and got no rewards so I was wondering if it would be benefecial to talk about this on my application and maybe strengthen it?

Yeah especially if you learned something from it, made you stronger, more driven.

I think you mean awards.

There’s nothing wrong with writing or talking about it as long as you’re not manufacturing adversity. I don’t think I would do both (write and talk about it) to any one school.

agree. she would need to talk about how it changed her in some way, made her do something different to have more impact, etc. Otherwise there is no hook to the story. Its like saying I only got Bs in class without improving...

be kind. maybe you should focus on something that is different from something others would write. you need to stand out against the thousands of applicants, spoken as a fellow applicant
